I must begin by apologising as, looking around, there have been quite a few threads comparing these two lenses – there are just a couple of things, though, that I haven't been able to find out and I'd be very grateful if someone with experience of the 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 lens might be able to help, please? I'd also been considering the 17-55 f/2.8.As it's such a long post (sorry), I thought I might be best to get my questions out of the way early on:• Does the 15-85 feel unbalanced on an...

Hello Everyone, I am planning to buy my first DSLR (Canon 1200D) soon, and I am between two options: 1. the EF-S 18-55 IS II (and maybe a 50mm f1.8 in the future) or wait some time and get the 2. EF-S 18-135mm IS STM lens The only problem is that I can get the first one in the summer, but the second one I can get around Christmas next year, and the wait would be unbearable! Do you think the 18-135mm is wirth the wait? Are there many differences between the two lenses, and what will I win if I...

I am using my canon eos 600D with the 18-55 isII and a YN-568EXII flashgun. Currently shooting in small local clubs with limited space and getting mixed results. Here is my camera and flash setup. I usually stay between 18-35mm at f5.6-8, iso 800-1600 and aperture of 1/4-1/8. My flash is set at 1/4, manual and not ettl with backcurtain on. The results I get are...

Hi there!  Newbie here hoping to get some confirmation as to why my lens is malfunctioning. Unfortunately I dropped my camera (Canon Rebel T2i) this past weekend and ever since my autofocus on the 18-55 mm lens has not been working properly.  Manual focus works the same as it had before. Whenever I try to autofocus, the focus lens does not move but it sounds like there is a motor running.  I actually took the lens apart to see whether it was a flex cable that had broke -- didn't really look...

A few days ago, I posted a question about filter holders in the Beginners Questions forum, and a member suggested I might be best to post a copy in the Canon SLR Lens forum, too, as many members had a great deal of experience with rectangular filter and holders. I've copied my original post below - I'd be really grateful if I could ask for some advice with filters and filter holders for two Canon 58mm lenses, please? Several years ago, I purchased a few Cokin P-series filters for a Panasonic...

I'd be really grateful if I could ask for some advice with filters and filter holders, please? Several years ago, I purchased a few Cokin P-series filters for a Panasonic DMC-FZ20 bridge camera. However, around two years ago, I purchased my very first DSLR, a Canon 650D/Rebel T4i. I've recently begun looking into purchasing an ND graduated filter, but at the same time, was hoping to begin using my old filters once again - in particular the circular polariser. As I've been reading around, I've...
