Canon EF 16-35mm F4L IS USM User Reviews

Wideangle zoom lens | Canon EF | 9518B002

I bought this lens when I started shooting more architectural and interior projects and the 24LII just wasn't wide enough. Odds are, if you're on a tripod and mixing light sources the 16-35/4LIS is a great alternative to the 16-35/2.8L or T/S lenses. I find that CaptureOne allows me to adjust lines and other corrections. Overall, I'm very happy with the lens.

I recently traded in some less used Sigma lenses for this beauty.  It was used (mint condition and totally like new) from a major UK retailer.  My intention was to complete my set up (16-35 F4, 24-105 F4 and 100-400ii).  The 24-105 was rapidly becoming my go to lens as I got more into landscapes but I felt the need for an ultra wide.  I have a 14mm Rokkinon f2.8 and Sigma 20mm f1.4 (that I basically got in a trade for some bednights in our lodge) but neither are very flexible and really are ...

I found this second hand in a junk store so I bought it as it seemed to be in 'nickel-chrome' - condition. A French expression for something shiny and cool. The image quality is stunning. What can I say. It is very satisfying to look at the landscapes with the contrast and detail that leaves yours, truly clearly as the weakest link of the process. I only wish it was smaller and lighter. The bag with a 5D# and  the three zooms is heavy. But which one to leave out?

Hi there, I would like to share a few test shots and experience with my newly acquired and beloved 16-35/4 lens. In short: Pros: Incredible sharpness across a frame on every focal length and aperture. Low price that seems to be the lowest in connection with sharpness it delivers among all L lenses I've ever used. A weather sealed body with a gasket, a comparatively small and convenient lens hood (takes not so much space in my bag like 17-40 lens hood), popular and affordable 77mm filter ...

I bought this lens 1½ years ago to replace the 16-35/2.8 L II that I found to be a good lens but finicky and at times unreliable due to field curvature and other issues. Besides, I love image stabilization. I have never looked back or elsewhere because this lens is all around excellent, sharp from wide open (I could shoot wide open to keep the vignetting, and the sharpness was still excellent - unlike the 2.8 which sometimes, depending on the subject, had abrupt sharpness falloff even at ...

I just bought Canon EF 16-36mm f4 IS USM 2016 NYE day. I took few shoots around. The wide angle is very impression. also the sharpness is excellent. compare Canon 16-35mm f2.8 III, the price is about 1/3. Compare my old lens Canon 24-105mm f4 mark I, I feel it is improved a lot for my landscape photography. and it's a little lighter than Canon 24-105mm f4 mark I.  I'm happy. I was think to go to Canon 11-24mm f4. But that lens could be difficult for fit with square filters. after I questioned ...

An important notice (for pixel peepers)! I’ve been shooting with the lens Canon 16-35/4L IS for a week and that’s what I found. 1. IS may and does degrade IQ making sharpness across a frame non-uniform. I believe IS in a ultra-wide lens acts like a tilt-shift unit making unfavorable and uncontrolled shift movements at the moment of capturing a shot. OTOH IS on mode is fine for videographers. With disabled IS the lens still captures sharp images as usual. 2. The lens has got a mild field ...

Picked up this lens last Friday and had a shoot out on Saturday. I am very impressed with this lens. -> f5.6 - f8.0 produce exceptionally sharp images. No doubt at all. -> Corner sharpness is excellent. May be my eyesight is getting worse but I personally find this lens produce corner sharpness better than the 24-105mm for sure. I dont have any other lens wider than the 24-105 f4 to compare. -> The pictures have a better contrast and nice color rendition. -> The lens extends and retracts ...

I bought this lens about a month ago prior to my trip to Washington & Mexico with the idea of having it as a landscape lens for the trip.  I currently have it mated to a Canon 7D.  I thought it was okay, not flash, but it was up to the task and it filled a range in my camera bag that I had been procrastinating over for some time.  I had vacillated over whether to go the whole hog and get the 11-24 which in Australia was a tad under $4k, was beautiful but I just couldn't justify it.  Anyway, ...
