So this happened this morning during a shoot:  The plastic that holds these two pieces together just broke off! Couldn't find ANY online info on this kind of lens issue, so it's be awesome it someone could recommend what to do next. Can it be repaired? how bad is it? can I sell it for parts? Any suggestions would be helpful! This 16-35 was my baby :( Here are some other pictures of the issue: Thanks! Luke

I normally shoot shows with a 28 f2 which has worked great as I've started out but I have recently been looking to upgrade. I just shot a concert tonight with a Metabones IV and a Canon 16-35 f2.8. I had some issues with it and was not impressed but have only heard good things so I'm wondering if I may have done something wrong.  I updated the firmware. In some of my shots I had some weird horizontal lines popping up. Especially in the lighting/fog. Also, focusing was very difficult with MF....

Everything I've read so far says that the 4L is sharper - both at bigger apertures and in the corners. 1. Which one is sharper at f 8,11,16? 2. Excuse the amateur question, but what reasons could possibly make me want the 2.8L II over the 4L? My primary intention here is landscapes. Astro isn't of any concern. Thank you.

Dear all, I got back into photography after a ten-year hiatus and I am rebuilding my kit. I bought a Canon 5D Mark III and the lens I have dreamed of owning since at least 2001, the 16-35/2.8 USM. My interest lies in doing journalistic work and I love the aesthetics of close-quarters photography, which I came to appreciate first with the work of the founders of VII agency. On the list for the future is the 70-200/2.8 IS USM as a must-have lens for reportage. My dilemma lies in what to get as...

Hello guys , i will be shooting a wedding this month with my friend. I will shooting the tradition part and the stage photos while he will be clicking candid shots. I will be using a 5D Mk iii. I don't understand which lens should i use which will cover both my needs of group photos and nice depth to traditional photos. I'm thinking between canon 24-70 f2.8 and canon 16-35 f2.8. you suggestions and comments on what will be the right choice for me and yes even some other lens will do. Thank you

Hello everyone. Apologies for what is probably a dumb and over asked question..... I'm wanting to get a good quality wide angle. I currently use a 6D but will be upgrading soon to either a 5DSR or possibly a 5D mk IV (whenever it is eventually released etc...) I mistakenly bought a Sigma 12-24 mk ii a month or so ago (I say mistakenly, because I bought it online from Amazon when a little merry after a few glasses of wine). This Sigma, is both too wide for my liking and doesn't produce good...

Hello All, I am currently looking to upgrade my lens Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM to either: - Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM - Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM - Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0L USM Will be using this lens for Landscape and Night Photography, well basically anytime I go out of town, I shall carry this lens. Currently I try to learn more into Night Photography. I did try those three lenses and must say, am getting really confused as am happy with all the results. Therefore I would...

Hi everyone - just wanted to let you know (after the fantastic advice from this forum) that I ended up getting the 5d3 + 24-70mm f/2.8 II USM IS + 70-300mm f/4 - 5.6L IS USM + 16-35mm f2.8 Mark II USM and have travelled extensively with the 1st 2 lenses and handled it fine ! I love the sharpness of the 24-70mm and the 70-300mm has been on my camera ALOT ! Even tho the reach for Africa may have been lacking - but thats OK as I knew that would be the case ! In found in Africa I was taking so...
