I will skip the facts about plastic, the switch etc. The IQ on my copy is not very good. The edge and corner sharpness varies with the FL. Wide open, the lens is rather sharp in the center but the edges and corners are just not acceptable. Stopping down helps does not fix all the issues. At wide angles, 5.6 fixes the left edge sharpness but not the lower left corner. F8 is needed for that fix. In the tele range, the problem switches to the right side. F8 helps but the edge is still slightly ...

I got this lens in the kit with M100 and I'm quite surprised. It is a very good lens for a "money", light and well build (comparing to plastic lenses from the Canon 10 years ago). I have compared it with M 22mm lens and prime has an edge of course, but printing its results on A4 paper size I can not find a difference. The lens is very sharp in the centre and softer in the edges. If stopped down to 5.6 on the wide end it is perfectly sharp for my needs. On the "tele" it is same but needs to be ...

I bought this lens with an M100. The quality is great, low aberrations, very sharp (although this sharpness is really not needed). That is... until after using it for about 10 big events. When I returned, I discovered some problems . When retracted, the camera still allowed me to capture an image. For some reason, the camera focused to infinity when the lens was in the lock position. The image wasn't the same; it was full of spherochromatism (like CA but in the center) and all white objects ...

Not the most glorious of Canon lenses - plasticky, rather slow, and corners never get critically sharp at the wide end. All in all, though, quite a compelling little package - small, light (140g), inexpensive, good range (24-72mm FF FoV), effective three-stop+ IS, and sharp in the center throughout its range and aperture. I rather like the 15mm f/3.5 setting which no other M lens can do. I ain't too proud to say I like the lens. Papa don't preach, I'm keepin' this baby...
