I got this camera in Dec. '13. It was a discontinued item, and said to be the very last of its kind still on the shelf anywhere in the country. Therefore it was on sale for $200.00 + I got an additional 40% off that sale price. Luckily, I was able to put it on 'hold' and drove sixty miles to pick it up for a steal! I've been in the process of finding a really nice bridge camera to use for car shows that I frequent as well as an upcoming trip to Niagara Falls. I had previously been using an old PowerShot A560 and my iPhone and had been wanting to pick up a DSLR to start taking some more professional photos. I have had this camera since the middle of December 2012. I bought it as a tag along camera for use on quick walks and when carrying a bag with equipment is not desirable. My first choice would have been the Canon G12 or Nikon equivalent, however the price points on these were more than I cared to spend for this purpose.
