I have been VERY happy with my SX260 for several years. I primarily use the camera to take food pictures, family snapshots and video of live music performances. The features i like the most are #1 - Pocketable form factor #2 - Ability to take reasonably good low light pics in dark restaurants #3 - Above average sound on music recordings #4 - "burst" mode to take multiple frames of family candids to get the choice of the frame with the best facial expressions My dilemma now is because there is...

I read about this feature in other Canon cameras. Is it possible to do it with this one? Also, assuming it is possible, is it convenient? I currently have Powershot SX260 HS with bulit-in GPS, which is useful, but it takes a few seconds (sometimes more) from turning on the camera and until the GPS position is locked, which sometimes can be annoying. Is the smartphone solution better? Thanks

Hello dpreview.com Forum members, Does anyone have any knowledge about typical Canon camera plagues and the new SX710 (SX710 HS)? I currently own a Canon SX260 HS which has the following dreaded and known issues:1) Lens scratch due to protection curtain = http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/32914762) E32 error (camera has not been dropped, has been stored in case, etc.) I am very used to Canon cameras, and I like the "pocketable" cameras because I can easily have a camera on me - BUT these...
Would someone please explain to me why NON-DSLRs seem to have more shutter lag than their SLR relatives? Since SLRs usually have a mirror that must move out of the light path, it makes no sense to me that they have a shorter shutter lag. I currently have a Canon T3i with Sigma 18-250; a combination that I love. BUT, as I get older, I get a terrible backache from having any significant weight on my neck or shoulders. I would like to replace this camera + lens, for traveling purposes, with a...
I do a fair amount of travelling so I take photos of exteriors (i.e., cities, buildings, etc) and interiors (inside churches, museums, etc.). I'm looking for a good P&S camera in the $300 to $400 price range. Hi, So there's a piece of dust that managed to get inside the lens of my trusty SX260 - isn't that the most annoying thing on earth? I had my original one from October 2012 until June 2013 when I was at a wedding and someone was taking a picture of me a the rehearsal dinner and dropped it on the stone patio...and my jaw dropped with it. I had to run to Target that night and get an SX280, which I didn't love, especially after reading all the reviews on it. Target said I could return it no...
How can I download a video taken on my Canon PowerShot SX260 HS to a folder such as My Pictures so that I can access it and attach it in an e-mail to friends and family? I am able to download the digital still images without any problem, but have not been able to download the videos.

I have a Canon Powershot SX260 HS with lens cover leaves which stopped functioning which prevents the camera from taking pictures. Can anyone suggest what is wrong with it and what it takes to fix it? The camera was purchased about 15 months ago and worked perfectly for about a year. It was always kept in a soft zippered case so it should have had minimal exposure to dust.
