I'm travelling with this camera for a year and already have some experience with it. Is good for still pictures - ex. landscapes and portraits. I really enjoy zoom range and manual functions. It's good to learn basics of photography before you buy DSLR. Canon PowerShot SX160 IS
The camera will take decent pictures if you wait for it to: 1. Raise flash 2. Subject stops moving 3. Get in focus Since in reality that 97% of photos are not taken this way, this camera has fundamental issues. Bought the camera on vacation and therefore had a nice opportunity to compare it with my old camera, the Canon Powershot SX100 IS. With the SX160 Canon has shown some improvements, but it's not the thing I hoped for, though of course the price tag indicates that a little bit.
