Last year I bought my SX150IS for $20 in a pawn shop, and went on to develop almost an obsession with photography. By and by I dropped my camera and lost the lens shutter and the battery door is sprung, but it still works. Canon replaced this camera with the SX160IS that had upgraded HDMI output and Live View, and I own and have reviewed that camera as well. Got this for a very good price, around USD 100 depending on how to compare taxes etc, as it has been on the market for quite a while. Also suffered from poor flash and quick battery consumption, but then realized the batteries included were just for shooting a few test samples. I picked up an SX40 and SX150 at the same time hoping the SX150 would be good enough given it's attractive price point and size. I put in the AA batteries (new) and the first picture wouldn't take as the flash had to charge. I've never experienced this, especially with new batteries. I have to say, I did a lot of research, and this camera kept coming up and it fit in my current price range/budget (and I am not into the cameras like the "Elf"). Next, I am impressed with the abilities that this camera has to offer. Nikon and Olmpus also offer cameras similar to this one--and have some of the same problems, functions (lack of), etc. Compare well--for me--it ended up being price.
