6 megapixels | 2.5 screen | 35 – 140 mm (4×)

Great choice for all around point and shoot camera. IS comes in handy from time to time. Images are well exposed and detailed. Worry free shooting to ISO 200, 400 very usable. Solid build and nice screen complete the package. Problems: No.

My criteria was a thin pocket camera with excellent, professional photo quality that I could easily carry in a front pants pocket while backpacking across Southeast Asia for a month. I'm picky and demanding. I want National Geographic quality images from something the size of a credit card. I originally purchased a Panasonic Lumix FX-9, but just couldn't get good quality photos out of it, so I went back to my tried and true brand and purchased the Canon SD700IS. I simply couldn't be ...

Solid camera with great features. Easy to use and the image quality is top notch. The 4x optical zoom is nice compared to all other slim cameras which are 3x zoom. Easy to understand menu system. Great little camera!!! Problems: The function dial is a bit odd, but not really a problem per se'

I recently purchased the camera. I took plenty of pictures but am not sure how to download them on the computer. I am currently traveling and left the CD with the Canon software at home. Is the software on the Canon website the same as that on the CD? Please help. Thanks.

I viewed images made with a SD700 IS on my new iMac (Intel model) 20-inch monitor and was astonished and delighted by the sharpness and color. Images made at a low ASA were superb. On the other hand, images made in very low light were noisy and barely useful. Though I also have a Canon EOS 20D and several L-grade lenses, I plan to use my SD700 IS as my walk-about camera and leave the heavy stuff in the bag. I highly recommend the SD700 IS. Problems: No problems encountered. A thorough reading ...

Brilliant! Superb piece of engineering. I don't know how they got all these high-end features in this tiny package. This is my second Digital Elph, and like the first, it has great optics. After I had bought my first Elph in 2002, I knew I would look no further for point-and-shoot cameras. The addition of ISO400 and 800 is very nice, and opens up opportunities for night shooting. Noise can be an issue on high-ISO shots, but Paintshop Pro has an outstanding digital camera noise removal filter ...

Great camera. I own the SD550 in the champagne color and wasn't sure if I wanted to keep the SD700IS but once I got it out of the box, played with it and shot a few pictures; the decision came easy. I owned almost every generation of the elph model begining with the S series into the SD series. I am anal when it comes to details and want to make sure I own the very best and this camera put's at ease all my concerns. It's responsive, delivers clear images and it's small enough to carry with me ...

I have now owned 4 point and shoot cameras in the last 6 years and the first 3 were from Olympus; last one was a Olympus C-60. This camera blows away anything I have ever used. I use if for personal and work, and all other cameras always had so many blurry pictures, none so far with the SD700 IS. IS works fantastic and it does not ajust iso settings like others. TRUE IS. Construction is solid, shooting is super fast and and videos look incredible. I hardly use my sony Camcorder ...

Fits my needs perfectly. Easy to use, small, IS, well made. Fast start up, fast between shots. I've had several digital Kodaks, the fast Kyocera, my husband has a nice Sony, my daughter has the new Nikon. I tried theirs before I bought this one. I like this one the best out of all of them. I now have benign essential tremors and this camera takes out all of the shake. Plus, kids move, dogs move, pics still turn out great (kids & pets setting). LOVE it! I can take great pictures ...
