This camera is, well, amazing. I bought it right before I left on my trip and it performed great in a variety of conditions and took the abuse that the avg camera takes on a long trip. The camera itself is built great, which is one reason why I decided to pay the extra money for a high end point-and-shoot camera. Fast on and off times, and takes consecutive pictures very rapidly. The menus are extremely easy use and actually fairly intuitive. What a screen. The details, such as the fade ...

I just purchased the SD 700 IS, and for the most part, I am happy the with results. The pictures are crisp and clear and with little noise or fringing. However, I did take a couple of pics in bright sunlight that seemed to be a little overexposed. Since the camera has few manual controls, there is little I can do to overcompensate for this. This has me a little worried as I like to take pics in the mountains( 2000-2500') on bright sunny days. Other than that, I am very pleased with the ...

While I am a Canon fan as they have superior image quality in both the G3 and 4 and now the SD550 that I have owned. I was dissapointed in the mechanical operation of the SD550 as it sounded rough and not smooth. 5 months into using the camera it stopped working showing an E17 error. I followed all the procedures and sent the camera in for warranty work but was dissapointed to find that Cannon would not honor the warranty claiming water damage as moisture condensation had caused some minor ...

I have a 20D & a SD300 also - this camera rocks. Forget ANY other point and shoot - I've personally tried at least a dozen and this is the best one yet. It is exceptionally fast, the large screen is awesome and the image quality is surprisingly good. Do I get better results with my 20D and L glass? Of course, but for snapshots of the family at birthday parties and Thanksgiving, this camera won't let you down. Even the flash performance is great when you're within about 10 - 15 feet. The ...

Wow. This camera rocks. IS in combination with the very nice sensor results in simply superb pictures! And this thing is fast! I already own a 350d/RebelXT with a number of lenses (best one is my 60mm EF-S Macro)...but what the SD700is does in Macro mode is very very nice. Nice bokeh, smooth and really great colors. Indoor shooting is superb thanks to IS and low-noise sensor. Last but not least: this is a fun machine. I chose between the Fuji F30 and this jewel. The F30 is a nice ...

I made my decision to buy this camera based specifications and user comments. But now when I have it my hands, I realize it's real strength: The user friendliness! It is much more convenient to use than my previous cameras. l also appreciate the optical viewfinder which is better to use for fast sporting actions. And the camera is smaller than I expected, which is good. It fits perfectly in a small Case Logic camera bag, with extra pocket for battery and memory. Good light sensitivity and ...

Canon has really got it right with its newer generation of digital cameras. They have fixed many performance issues present in previous Canon cameras I've owned (PowerShot G1, G3, and S50) such as slow focusing and inability to focus in low light. The performance of the camera is excellent, great autofocus, autoexposure and flash exposure, white balance, and lightning-fast overall speed of operations including startup, shutdown, shutter-click response, image reading and writing, and PC ...
