I've been shooting my jewelry on a white background outside on overcast days with a Canon S90. I don't use a tripod, because it's more comfortable and quicker and I have a pretty steady hand. The camera was used when I bought it and has never performed as well as my original Canon S90. I'd like to find another light-weight small camera that works well with close-ups. Any suggestions? Thanks much.

Hi there, I'm the proud owner of a Canon S90 and I am considering upgrading to a Fujifilm X70. I'm rather clueless when it comes to camera technology but I may be swayed by the good reviews and -I have to admit- the 'retro' looks. I love the manual controls on the S90 and love the pocketability. Will the Fujifilm X70 be a significant upgrade from the S90 in terms of image quality (I reckon that would be the major yardstick by which to consider an upgrade?) Thanks!

I've had my old point and shoot, a Canon S90, forever, and it's just not up to snuff anymore (but it was great for a long time). I, of course, use my phone a lot, but I need something better than that, particularly when I travel. I'm looking for a lightweight point and shoot with good automatic settings, but also lets me take control when I want. I want a viewfinder. I want wi-fi. I want good zoom. I awant to take pictures in low light. I want, you know, everything. My brother-in-law showed...

Bottom Line: I'm thinking of replacing the MX-1 with a G9X. I think the 1" sensor will make up for the dimmer lens, and the pocket size will have me carrying it more, thus not relying on my iPhone as much. Downsides: Wife will be a little mad I bought another camera and it is not as beautiful as the MX-1. (this is the price for true compactness, it seems, as the Ricoh GR is also ugly) Full Story follows: Years ago, when I was more "serious" of a photographer, I shot my dSLR . (APS-C sensor, 6...
I need to buy a new inkjet printer. Because of print head clogging issues, I want a inkjet printer that is easy to remove and clean the print head. I discovered by watching some youtube videos that it is really easy to remove the print head from Canon inkjet printers. Just remove the ink cartridges, lift up the print head locking lever and remove the print head. Like this Canon webpage illustrates for the S9000 printer: Image from:...
I'm on a hunt for a new camera to replace my broken Canon s90. I've somehow narrowed it down to the LF1 vs LX7. Essentially what I'm looking for is a camera that is pocketable and has a larger sensor. I'm also on a tight budget and I've found the LF1 for CAD $400 and LX7 for $300 (used). I think those are my best options at the CAD $400ish price point. Am I missing anything? What I really want to get a sense of is what the larger aperture in the LF1 will really do for me. The camera will...
This question is probably more for female owners of mirrorless cameras. I used to have a DSLR (Olympus E500) and a P&S (Canon S90). I carried my DSLR in a dedicated camera case and my P&S in my purse pocket. I recently got A5100 because of its DSL-like IQ and its small size. It's so small, I thought it would fix in my purse! The thing is, it DOES fit, but not in an inner pocket because of the protrusion; it just does not lie flat against the purse wall inside a interior pocket like Canon S90...
