If you can do without an optical viewfinder, this tiny machine is the camera to have with you all the time. In combination with Canon's DPP4 (free) software, I find this camera really nice. The sooc jpg's aren't too bad either and the pictures have that nice typical Canon rendering. The CR2 files work of course very fine with the (free) Canon DPP4 software. Small size in combination with - relative to the sensor - surprisingly good images and the low price (in 2021) will appeal to a lot of ...

I bought this to replace a stolen S95 and it's so much better.  Often I can't tell the difference  between pics taken on it and my SLR's so it is often slipped into my shirt pocket rather than carrying the extra weight.

I was looking for a VERY small camera to bring with me everywhere and I've found it, the Canon G9 X Mark II is super small, smaller than a cellphone! And it got a 1" sensor wich is amazing. The 28-84mm F2-4.9 lens is very sharp! Colors are accurate and it shoots RAW. Weight is only 206g It's a discreet street photography camera, but a tilt screen would have been welcome for that purpose. So I asked for this camera for Christmas instead of a new Iphone, mainly as a pocketable walkabout and for family snaps. After I read the DPReview review, I was apprehensive. The lens in that review certainly appeared soft, in contrast to other reviews by Imaging Resource and Cameralabs. I have owned a fair number of smaller cameras (Fuji X-A2, Panasonic GX85, GM1, Fuji X30).......all were either uncomfortable to hold and/or not pocketable. Luckily, the lens in my copy is not nearly as soft. ...

I just bought the silver and brown leather version from Canon refurbished for an amazing price. I usually buy black but find that my pocket cameras have the black wear off and look rough quickly. So I am trying the silver for now. To understand how I plan to use this camera you can see my other point and shoot galleries here. http://www.scottzinda.com/Point-and-Shoot-Cameras I have enjoyed all of these cameras, but I have learned them thoroughly and accepted their strengths and weaknesses. Wh ...

This is the camera I've been waiting for. I have a small Canon SD950IS, which has been my carry-all camera, going everywhere with me. It finally developed lens zoom problems and though I've been considering replacing since the S95 came out. I've also coveted the Sony RX100 through all it's revisions, but never thought it was worth the price of admission - for a camera that bounces along in a pocket, sits in the center console of my truck, etc. Enter the G9X Mk2. When I first saw the GX9, I ...
