Hi This is the first time I come here so sorry if my questions have ben answered already a thousand of times . So : 1 it it possible to turn off NR on the G5X jepgs ? or at least to a minimum like Panasonic ? 2 what features do you have with the in camera raw editing ( highlights, shadows, WB, perspective, etc..) ? Can I turn the NR off ? As I made it clear , noise reduction is something I'd rather do myself in PP with specific softs . Thank you in advance
I am a proud owner of the Canon Gx5 but since these two days, when I press the shutter, it focuses quickly then with the complete press, it takes a second before the image is taken. I don't recall this behaviour from my camera. Do I have some setting messed up ? Could be the card is getting full and slow to record ?.
My previous camera was a Sony RX100 II, and I thought I would upgrade to the newer Canon competitor... Apart from the truly amazing lens, I now definitely feel this as a downgrade, when it comes to jpeg color quality. I spent 6 month playing with manual white balance and whatever settings... No way to fix it: As soon as the sun gets near the horizon, the nice golden yellow lighting are rendered hopelessly pink! The situation improves as the sun gets down closer to the horizon, the orange red...
I have a feeling the correct answer to this question is "none" but I'm going to ask it anyway: What are some suggestions for the best compact camera to use for long exposure night sky pictures? I like a small camera to bring backpacking with me in the mountains...with a ~30 lb pack I'm not trying to add a camera bag with multiple lenses. I had an RX-100 m1 for several years but it recently broke. I primarily got landscape pictures during the day and use a tripod and ~25 second exposures...
A quick question: is it possible to set G5Xii to power on and off by activating the pop-up EVF, like on the RX100 series cameras? I find it a little fiddly in its default setting, with power on and off as an extra step. It’d be much easier if the camera simply turns on when the EVF is activated and off when it’s pushed back down. thanks
I have a G5X which is less than a year old. It is displaying symptoms which I think is a fault, but on the 2 times I have been about to contact Canon to arrange for it to be repaired, the fault seems to have suddenly disappeared! This has made me wonder if I am actually seeing a function of the camera which I'm not aware of, which I'm inadvertently pushing a button and activating, and then (again inadvertently) switching back off...? The issue is with the rear display on the camera. When...
