Do you use teleconverters designed for compact cameras attached to the front element of an exchangeable m43 lens? I have a Canon TC-DC58C 2x teleconverter back from the Powershot A650 IS days and I want to try using it attached to Panasonic 45-150 mm lens (Panasonic 100-300mm II is on my shopping list, but not just yet...). I have no idea if it would work optically, but I read about one of Olympus 1.7x teleconverters being used successfully like this with good results. Obviously I have second...

Hi, I've owned the A650IS for a while, but the truth is I hardly used it because it ended up being too bulky, and when I got an iPhone 4S the A650IS languished in a box until I came across it just recently.   With Amazon's Black Friday sale coming up, I'm hoping to get something at least equal in features and quality to the A650IS but much more compact in nature - something more along the form factor of the PowerShot S120, I think; more pocketable. If it were possible there are two features...

I understand I'm not the first to post this question and the short answer is that the a650 is irreplaceable. I thought of piggy-backing my question on an old thread, but since new cameras come out every month, it made more sense to start a new thread.Here's what I like about the a650, in order of importancearticulated screen: that's a mustAA batteries: so I can have just one charger, can buy batteries in a pinch, and don't have to spend a fortune on a new battery when the old one stops...
