The iPhone XR is large screened, single-camera update to the iPhone X. It has a new 6.1-inch "Liquid Retina" display and a few key updates under the hood compared to the iPhone X. The rear camera is 12MP, 28mm equiv. F1.8 lens, with a new sensor with larger pixels (1.4 µm, up from 1.22 µm).
A new A12 Bionic chip is on board with an 8-core Neural Engine, working in conjunction with an Image Signal Processor to improve bokeh in Portrait Mode. Photos taken in Portrait Mode now offer adjustable depth-of-field after capture, and a new Smart HDR mode leans on the new, faster processor to analyze data from multiple interframes and merge them into an optimized final image.
The phone has IP67 water resistance rating and boosted battery life, with storage options up to 256GB.
