Agfa Digital Cameras
|First digital camera:||Agfa ActionCam, 1995|
Once a major name in consumer photography, Afga (as Agfa-Gevaert still a major graphics and imaging business) sold off its digital camera business in 2004 and in recent years the name has been licensed to Plawa, a manufacturer of modest, inexpensive entry-level compact cameras.
In the early days of digital cameras Agfa had some success with its ePhoto range, but since the unsuccessful attempt to spin the consumer business off into a separate company (AgfaPhoto GmbH, now defunct) the brand has been sublicensed to third parties, currently Plawa.
