I am considering buying the A6000 as an upgrade to my Nex6, and have a couple of questions:1. Does it allow for manual setting of flash? I frequently use a studio light system, and some cameras - like all Nikons - can set the flash manually to for eksample 1/32 of its value. Typically you can set your flash to ADI, TTL or Manual. In Manual you can set 1, 1/2, 1/4 and so on. I can not find this option on my nex6. In the A camera range you have to have the a68 or above to get this function.If...

hello i bought a lens online, which had the main pc board missing, so i bought an original main pc board from a sony repaire shop, installed the board and updated the lens to version 2, everything else works, however the auto focus on the lens will not work. i was told that i need the auto focus software from sony, but am not sure if thats true or not. here are some images from the lens as seen from the image, the lens works however the auto focus on it is not initiation, i...
Now this isn't purely related to portrait photography, but it is where i normally encounter this problem. I've been shooting a good few years with an NEX-6 using live view. Now I've switched to a D750, I'm using the viewfinder a lot more for many reasons. When I'm shooting a person, I want to focus on their eye using single point AF, works great, but I keep finding myself wasting a lot of space on the image due to the focus points being concentrated in the middle of the image. If I'm...
I have a Sony RX10 mk2 which I've barely used a I've struggled to find a use for, I bought it because I've had a lot of use of the RX100 and particularly like the slow motion on it. However while it offers a good bit more range than the RX100 with the larger size I generally prefer taking the NEX-6 with the 18-200mm or the D750 with the 28-300mm. The mk3's 600mm reach looks like it would make quite a difference and after digging out the 150-600mm for the D750 to take some quick shots I've...
Hi I was wondering if you guys could assist me. I was using my NEX-6 with a Pentax AF200s flash and it worked, no issues. Today I tried a Sigma EF-500 ST but didn't work... Strange.. I tried the Pentax AF200S and that too stopped working. Did I somehow damage my Hotshoe? The Pentax is rated at 7.7v and the Sigma 6... what would have caused the fault? And how would I test this? Thanks
Hi friends, this is my first post. I own a5100 camera, and im happy, but im thinking to buy used NEX6 for EVF and for the greate price in the used market nowadays (NEX 7 and a6000 are out of my budget). Do you think NEX6 is stepback in IQ? I know I get 16mpx vs 24mpx sensor, but I thought NEX6 would be better in low light situations due a higher pixel size. Howerver Dxomark scores rates NEX6 worst than a5100 in low light ISO. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

I know this seems quite basic but I can't seem to figure it out (haven't been able to find anything that compares it quite so well) Is it really just the megapixel count (and the few updated features...? and if so, are the lenses interchangeable? what are the advantages (other than better features at some point, higher megapixel rate?) is there anything technical i'm missing out on? i'm asking because i'm just about to invest in a camera system. Sony seems to be the most admired for lowlight...

Hi! I have a NEX-6 and an a99v. Both are very good for most things. but low light high ISO is not one of those things. How is the D3 compared to modern mirrorless like a6300, a6500, a7 Mk2 etc in terms of AF speed and accuracy in low light and also noise levels at high ISO. I'm talking about shots at sunset or lower light levels. I will not climb mountains or walk around for the whole day with this kit so weight is not a high priority. Technical quality with 12MP will be plenty good enough...
