I've been shooting with the Nex-6 since early 2013, and feel that now is the time for a long-overdue upgrade. I'm at a crossroads, with the a6500 leading in one direction, the X-T2 in the other. By way of context, my photos are evenly divided between street, landscape, and architecture. With very few exceptions, I shoot with the Zeiss 24mm f/1.8. Handheld, often in low-light situations. Video capability is not a deciding factor. RAW over JPEG. a6500 Advantages IBIS - especially given my more...
I bought a Sony NEX-6 a few years ago and my wife and I love it! Recently it was dropped from a very short distance and now the built in pop up flash is not working but the camera still seems to be fine. We use the flash all the time by pulling it back and bouncing so we really need to get an external one that mounts to the camera. We mostly shoot in auto modes so something that works well with that is best. I saw the HVLF20M on Amazon but I was confused as to whether it needs an adapter to...
Once I figured out how to assign custom buttons, it's a delight to use the IBIS with my legacy Rokkor glass. Only challenge I'm having with a6500 is re-learning button positions from my well-used NEX-6. Nice to be able to position the manual focus magnifier within the frame but bummer that the single-button access is no more. One must activate the focus magnifier and then engage it with another push of the center dial. Also, focus magnifier doesn't drop off when the shutter is slightly...

Hi, My Sony NEX6 accept regular sized SD-cards (SD/SDHC/SDXC). Now during Black Friday weekend I can find better much better deals on MicroSD cards (sold with adapter) than on standard sized SD cards (basically current generation MicroSD vs. previous generation SD), so I feel tempted to buy the MicroSD cards. Will I see any performance degradation if using an adapter? Or is adapter not recommended for digital cameras (for some reason)? Thanks!
Hello all, Just out of curiosity, are there any users out there who use some of Sony's FE lenses on the smaller crop bodies? I am actually quite satisfied with my NEX-6 IQ. Though, the sluggish AF is seriously starting to bug me. I aim to finally upgrade to a mirrorless FF body in the next 2-3 years as I can't afford one right now. In the meantime I have been considering several of the FE lenses, especially the GM 85 1.4. Of course it'll be a moderate tele on my crop body, but it seems like a...

Hey guys, I recently bought a used Nex6 from ebay, and upon trying it with a brand new Sigma 19mm f2.8, I found that certain objects in the viewfinder were trimmed with an obnoxious yellow tint. The seller told me it's the "color temperature of the viewfinder," but I'm a bit skeptical about that If anyone knows what this could be, or if it's a real feature, any advice would be greatly appreciated. P.S. Another problem I'm having is that whenever I try to focus the lens, it spontaneously zooms...

I just received a NEX-6 with 16-50 kit lens. Still images seem to be fine in all modes, but I am unable to set 60i or 60p in avchd or mpeg4 modes. Camera says "60i" on the bottom so it should be a US model, but the menu choices are only 50i, 50p in avchd, and 25p in mpeg4. I've spent many hours looking for this problem/solution online to no avail. The camera is software rev 1.1, but I won't update it unless I know this problem was a bug solved by a later update, since I will return the...
I have a Sony NEX-6 and an A-6000 which both will connect to a Sony Xperia Z3 tablet using WiFi (and the A-6000 also using NFC). But neither camera will connect to our two Samsung S5 smartphones. The phone indicates a connection made but the camera keeps trying to connect and then fails. All devices use the same WiFi standard 802.11 b/g/n. Any suggestions?
