So I was transferring images from my camera to my computer by a wire and i accidentally stood up because of an emergency, and my camera fell about 2 feet on the carpet it wasnt on a very surface but it was also plugged in by a wire so that stopped mitigated the fall a bit as well. Anyways there is no physical damage done to the camera, its totally fine there was just some pressure but now when i turn the camera on, it turns on then off.. turns on then off again, again! Guys im worried please...

Had a frustrating walk with my NEX-5R and A6000 (bought in 2013 and 2016 respectively) in just above freezing temperatures where the batteries kept saying they were exhausted. I could get a few more photos out of them by warming them up inside my gloves and when I got down lower and the day warmed up a little my A6000 said there was actually 93% battery left, while the 5R still had 2 bars on the battery meter. Is susceptibility to cold something that gets worse with age, so new batteries...
My wife normally uses a Nikon D5200 with an 18-140mm. I usually carry a NEX-5R with a 10-18mm, 16-50mm and Sigma 30mm f2.8. I'm definitely more into photography than she is. I especially enjoy using my UWA for buildings and landscape. I've tended to carry the lighter setup because I carry everything else when my family goes on vacation but kids are now getting older and she wants to start carrying less so I'm thinking of setting myself up to use the Sony. Looking at lens prices for the (used)...
Hi, I just got a new RX100 VII I found that intelligent auto mode is overexposed. compared to my old NEX-5R, intelligent auto mode in NEX-5R has more correct exposure. For example, shooting the sky at same position, same time. NEX-5R gives blue sky, while RX100 Vii gives white sky. Now I have to use P mode, and set exposure compensation to -1 as work around. Is this normal behaviour of RX100 VII, is there anyway to fix? I don't want to bother with manual mode or A mode. Because it is point...

Right now, I have my trusty Sony NEX-5R, which is still an awesome camera for its age. I recently been using the 50mm f1.8 prime, which is also a great lens. However, I've been needing more tele shots. I can crop the image from my NEX, which is still decent, but not ideal obviously. Budget is a bit tight, so my only potential lens is the SEL55210 55-210mm, but it's a much slower lens with f6.3 at the longest. At the same time, I've been seeing the a6000 on sale. It has 24MP, thus it can give...
I just bought a Minolta MD 70-210 F4 lens (manual focus only) off of eBay for a good price, to use with my Sony NEX-5 (14.2 MP). The lens has great glass, smooth aperture, etc. and works well. However, it will not focus to infinity. I was using one of the cheaper adapters available on Amazon (Fotasy MD-NEX). I don't know much about lenses so I started researching to figure out what the problem could be, and I came upon 2 possibilities: the focus ring needs to be calibrated, or the adapter...
Anyone here have any experience with changing out the back LCD on the a6000? I obtained a broken a6000 months back, "wouldn't turn on". Took it home, replaced the battery, and little light came on, but with no display anywhere. Hooked up with HDMI and it was set to display to LCD only. Switched it back to defaults and the EVF works fine, LCD is apparently bad. That's how I've been using it, when I use it. But most of the time I end up using my NEX5r instead as its easier (for me at...
Hi, I currently have a Sony NEX-5R with the stock lens (SEL1855) I mostly use it on full auto mode, outdoor shots are ok, but anything indoors, especially people are fairly terrible. Would buying a better lens give a good improvement on the indoor/low light shots, or am I better off upgrading to something like a D2700? With a second kid on the way, I'm primarily looking to be able to shoot birthdays, trips to the beach or the zoo, that sort of stuff, capturing the memories. thanks
Hi all, I currently have a Sony NEX-5R and the videos I take with it produce a large amount of noise. I thought this was just the case with this camera generally, however, when I look at other videos online this camera seemingly produces decent videos. The issue that I am having is that the videos I take show a large amount of noise, and a lot of red pixels. I have tried changing all the settings but I do not know why this happens. I shoot on low iso, AVCHD 24P, shutter speed of 50 and low...
