I have a Sony A7RIII, a Tamron 28-75 and 17-28 and I'm waiting for someone to make a lightweight telephoto that I can carry on all my vacations (mainly shoot landscape and city architecture)  I used to be a Nikon apsc shooter and loved the 70-300mm (105-525 equivalent) lightweight lens (415gms) Is it technically possible to make a expect a 500gm lightweight full frame telephoto lens (f number is not that important for me since I'll mostly be shooting this in daylight) for the extra reach. If...

Hi All! Been a long time fan of the forums but first post. So with the recent Covid-19 measures in place, I've lost all my photography jobs. So whilst I'm out of a job, I've decided to volunteer my time at the local church with some live streaming but I've got no experience with video. I did a little research and got the following setup:Sony A7R IIIRode VideoMicElgato HD60 SMacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) - I know it's old but will need a job before replacing it.OBS (24.0.5) +...

I just received my Sony a7r4 from Precision Camera. I was having trouble using autofocus so the supervisor at Sony said to send it to Precision-the camera is five months old! The paperwork indicates that they replaced the mecha device, viewfinder and associated parts. Now I’m wondering if I should sell this camera and get the a7r3. This a7r4 is the second camera I’ve had to send back to Sony since October! I’m not sure what I should do at this point. Is my repaired camera essentially new...

I have the Manual Focus aids set up on my A7R IV, using both EVF/LCD magnification and red highlights to acquire precise focus. These aids work fine when I use my Sony, Sigma (either FE mount or EF mount with MC-11), as well as Canon EF (with MC-11) lenses in manual mode. However, I now have the Rokinon Special Performance 10mm f3.5 UWA Manual Focus lens. The lens has full electronic contacts and EXIF data is transferred to the camera. But while the red highlights show up fine all of the time...

I just got a 1DX Mark II at a great price, and I will pair it with my Sony A7R IV. Among Nikon, Canon and Sony cameras, I admittedly have the least experience with Canons. When I shoot with my Nikons and Sony cameras, I usually put on Flexible Spot: Focus Area Manual, or AF-C, single point on Nikon. When I am framing and composing, it allows me to use the joystick to move the autofocus point wherever I want without having to press a button. On the 1DX Mark II, it seems I have to press the...

Hi All - I bought a used Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 GM after doing a visual examination and taking a few random test shots on my Sony A7R IV. It seemed solid. But now that I've spent some time with it, I'm noticing a consistent focusing problem wide open at f/2.8. It looks like ghosting, and it's not what I expected from a GM lens.  I did some quick comparison shots to illustrate what I'm experiencing, along with an adapted shot using a Canon 400mm f/5.6 lens. All three are hand held at 100 ISO,...

I am coming from using A7R III/IV for about two years. I recently purchased A6600 as a travel camera. t works like its FF brothers in many ways, but one of the important missing feature is the joystick.  I can work around moving the AF point using touch screen, but I am unable to figure out a way to quickly reset the focus point back to center. Is there a way to quickly get to the center point (usually in flexible/expandable small/medium mode)?

Hi, Newbie here. I own a Sont A6000 + Sony 16-70 F4 Yesterday I joined an event(pet photography get together), and got to loan a A7RIV + Sony 70-200 F2.8 Photo from A7RIV : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o9AsOH8-dpBzXtU4Nv4DkofJI8iFnVBD/view?usp=drivesdk Photo from A6000 :https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KRv8yTCAxmbhPdldnLA8qCFSI0y28aP7/view?usp=drivesdk The fur area detail difference is due to body or lens? and if I intend to stick with apsc, any idea how to achieve same dof and...
