I wish to measure the saturation-based ISO (EIsat) of a Sigma DSLR empirically. The ISO Standard is a horror of jargon and contains a good few assumptions to boot. So, instead: I have a lux-meter, a very large diffuse source of light (big blue sky), a Sigma SD10 and the excellent RawDigger. Am I right in thinking that the Inverse Square Law does not apply to the lux-meter reading because of the "size" of the sky? In other words, the lux-meter reading should not vary significantly with height...
I am pleased to announce that I have just become the owner of a Sigma SD10 and a bevy of lenses. This boon was bestowed upon my humble self by another member here... :-D I have checked and found that it has firmware V 220.127.116.112. Is this the latest for the SD10? If not, how can I get the latest? Ta. atom14.
Hi gang,Very long time since I have frequented this forum.I have an SD10 and I think a 15-30 and also a 50mm 2.8 ex lens that I'm wanting to offload as I simply don't use it.I thought about selling some time back but never got around to making it happen so now I'll either give it away or toss it.I'm really not sure if there is any interest given that it's old tech but I thought I would offer it to any Sydney based togs before I toss it.It has a catz eye focus screen btw.Anyway, if there is...
Once I saw what these 16 artists could do with pencils, ballpens or oil painting, I thought of spending less time trying to understand different X3F RAW ranges... 16 artists who make believe their works are photographs ...In all seriousness, I am still interested in looking at the actual noise values in an SD10 X3F and I set manual mode, ISO 100, 1/6000s exposure, yet when I push the shutter button fully, it keeps flashing 30 no matter how long and nothing happens. The DP1M took a picture...
The question assumes 100% fill factor and round :-O pixels, to keep the question simple. Let's say that, for a particular set-up, a CoC calculation (rightly or wrongly) gives a value of 0.014mm at the sensor but I insist on using 2x2 binning on a Sigma SD9 or SD10 giving an 0.018mm 'diameter' pixel. Would the DOF be that for 0.014mm or that for 0.018mm? Putting that another way, does the sensor pixel density px/mm^2 have an intrinsic DOF when projected out to the subject plane? I'm thinking...
My SD10's rubber buttons stopped working due to internal contact oxidization I guess. I managed to revive them all except one: the red "cancel" button. So I want to disassemble the SD10 and clean contacts beneath rubber buttons. But I have no idea where do I start. SD10 has many screws on its bottom, but they all go into empty space of the battery block. I don't understand which screw hold which part and don't want to accidentally make a mess. Also I haven't found any online info on SD10...
Ex Sigma user here. I still have my old SD10 with Katz eye screen and a few lenses. I was thinking about selling but not sure if it's even worth the effort given how old that model is. Is it worth a try or am I wasting my time now that the 15mp versions are here? Feedback welcome! :) --Time Goes By!
