I've saved my best Sigma lenses for a camera like the SD Quattro, but am also a bit of a geek as far as putting on old lenses with M42 mounts. Anybody tried one yet? The SD1 was a total failure with manual lenses, in my opinion. -John --https://www.facebook.com/john.lindrothjohn@johnlindroth.comDefinition: BOKEH - "Some things in life are clear, some things are not - Isn't that wonderful?"

So I'm going on trip where I expect to take a lot of pictures with my K-3ii.  Normally, I capture JPEG in SD1 and RAW in SD2. I use the JPEG when I'm traveling but only download the RAW files when I get home.  I have several high speed 16G and 32G SD cards, and one high speed 128 microSD card with adapter. For this trip, I'm thinking of putting my 32G SD card in SD1 and the 128G MicroSD in SD2. But wondering if a MicroSD card in an adapter works as well as a standard SD card? Using the...

Has anyone purchased, or know someone who has purchased, an SD1 on E-Bay listed as "New" but being exported from Japan , China, or Korea? Looks like they are targeting the U.S. market. They are being sold for around $1000.00 U.S. You don't get the Sigma warranty, but for about half price,...??   Not an issue for me. Are these factory seconds, new-old-stock, refurbs, junk to be avoided? Or did they just buy a bunch at a jobber price and we get good deals?

I've been on DPR for a little over a month. I'm new to digital photography. I bought my 1st camera 37 years ago. I had an OM-1N and OM-2N and some lenses. Also did darkroom stuff, including the Zone System. I recently bought a Pentax K-3 for myself and my son (in college).  I have entered a few challenges so far and did OK in two. I was recently DQed from one because I did not notice the size limitation. I was able to resize the JPG with LightRoom and re-enter the challenge. No big deal. I...

Good Morning All, Having owned several Sigma cameras from the DP2 onwards, and having tried and sent back two SD1’s because of poor focussing issues even with the 18-35 lens (despite use of the adaptor), I find I still love the quality of the images I took with the SD1 plus 8-16mm lens where accurate focus seems less of an issue in landscapes/cityscapes. My question is, regarding recent interviews with the head of Sigma on the forthcoming SD1 upgrade, which I presume would have the Quattro...

I have a range of Sigma lenses going back to 2003. After having been on the Sigma bandwagon and acquiring each new camera release, I couldn't keep fighting the quality control issues. Question being…. if I purchase an SD1, will it work with older as in 2003 onward Sigma lenses, all EX+ lenses, or will I have to send the camera in to Sigma and have all the lenses configured to work with the camera? Not having followed the threads for quite awhile, am asking. Where I left off was the last time...

Hi, I usually use my SD1 in manual mode. Say I change the shutter speed from 1/125 to 1/250 sec and take a picture. Then I turn the camera off. After a few minutes I turn it on again just to find the shutter speed set back to 1/125 sec. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Couple of questions on the SD1 1. Which RAW setting for Adobe capture is recommended in PP? I am using SPP and LR and PS for editing. 2. Is there a B and W RAW capture setting on the camera? If so I can' t seem to find it. I understand Firmware version 1.05 had this included. I have 1.09 installed on the camera. Thanks, Mike

I heard that you can shoot IR with the SD1 by removing a protective filter on the camera (without sending it to a shop) If that is true, does this apply to other Sigma cameras like the DP2s? My question reveals my ignorance about Sigma Cams. but I am curious to know if this is true.

Does anyone have any experience with Hasselblad (Zeiss) lenses on the SD1. Seems like these lenses would be good enough quality to produce the "goods" on the camera. Link Currently available on eBay for less than $100. Thanks, Mike
