I hope soon to upgrade from my Canon T2i to (among other things) another camera that has clean HDMI output. However, I am looking for an external monitor that I can also use with the T2i as well as the new one (the T2i not having a clean HDMI output), therefore I am looking at a Liliput Q7 Monitor with the crossover feature. I assume the crossover feature will allow me to use the monitor with the T2i, but I am unsure if I will be able to view the video footage I am shooting FULL SCREEN on...
I have been looking at the 1st 2 forever, 1st waiting for the price of the GM1 to go down, then thinking maybe wait for the GM5, and then the GF7 appears with a 2 lens kit (in Japan). I really like the smaller ILC cameras, and mainly shoot with the PM2, the Nikon J5, and the Pentax Q7 (along of course with my ricoh GR). If I still want to get one of the small Lumix cameras, here are my possibilities: 1. GM1 w 12-32, around ¥33,000. I would be fine with this. 2. GM5, w 12-32, around ¥48,000....

I shot some raw in the Q7 last night for the first time. When I got home and uploaded them to my computer, DxO gave me a thumbnail preview, but when I tried to open the images for editing, it said it cannot do it, because DxO doesn't support my camera. I thought the raw format Pentax uses is pretty much universal; that any decent post-processing program can deal with it. Yet, I seem to be high and dry for this camera with DxO, on which I spent a pretty penny... ---Jeremy

I'm looking for something to inspire me to go out and take some pictures, or activities I can do where I can bring a compact camera with me and just take some fun shots. What made me think of that was this review of the Pentax Q7, where the presenter talked about using it to shoot a bar band and taking it to a wine tasting. I just love these ideas! I've been doing the usual family photos, as I have a young family. They take most of my time, so they are always available subjects. Other than...
Although I understand that the Q-S1 had some ergonomic and other mechanical upgrades to the Q7, has anyone noticed any change in the image quality? My concern, actually, is that the Q-S1 might be a step backwards, or a step away from, the nice film-like results I've seen in the original Q and the Q7. Thanks in advance.
Having just purchased a used OVF-1 for my original Q, and liking the experience, I'm considering upgrading to a QS-1. But my main goal is to use the optical viewfinder with the 01 Prime as a walk-around camera as I don't like composing on the back of the camera. The crop factor is greater on the original Q than on the Q7 or Q-S1 and so I wonder whether anyone has any experience using the OVF on the Q7 or Q-S1. Is it usable or are the results too much wider than the image in the finder? Thanks...
Hey folks, quick questions about Corel Aftershot Pro 2 for anyone using it... I tried Aftershot (first version) last year and it was OK to use, but it wouldn't touch my Pentax Q raw output, which are saved as .dng's. So, my questions: Does Aftershot 2 actually support DNG now? and does it support the DNG output from the Pentax Q? I note it's not listed as compatible, but it's newer siblings, the Pentax Q7 and Q10 are supported in this version; this means that it's compatible with at least...
I'm a full time photographer, but recently my brother has asked me to do some youtube videos for him. It will be talking head sort of work. Interviews with a few staff with some footage of their workplace. Firstly, is this even a good idea? I'm not looking to do this commercially, but I'm looking to do a professional job for him. Because I record myself playing guitar a bit I have some gear. Video Cameras I have (or have available) include a 5Diii, a 6D and a 70D, and I can probably source...
