I recently purchased a Tokina 300mm f2.8 at-x pro (eBay).  I had the idea of a low budget birding set up, I saw the video Krisinct and its the same set up.  My results have been mixed, soft images, not too many sharp ones. I have done some reading about AF fine tune, not sure if that is the issue.  It probably is.  I could use some feed back and guidance.  The lens is in excellent condition. I like the concept of used equipment for me at this time to get started.  I want to make sure I like...

Today, I clicked on an Adobe Update on my desktop--at least that's what I thought it was. First thing I knew, I was being asked to sign into my Adobe account, which I did. Then it asked my date of birth, which I did. Finally, I got the agreement to terms, and I saw it wasn't an update to CS6 but rather installing Creative Cloud, so I did not agree. Then I went to Control Panel and uninstalled the program. I guess this must have been put on my desktop the last time I checked for updates, and I...

I recently bought a Sony HX50. Like the camera, amazing zoom, good quality build, good features, fine stabilization. My question is: my shots look very good, but what is the general thought about the HX50 as far as quality of photo, is this too small of a sensor to produce quality shots? I need to figure out if it is a keeper- Many thanks, Krocket

There's a good chance I'm going on safari again and I need some lens advice. The last time I went was several years ago and that when I only had a P&S camera. Everything is still in it early planning stages so I don't know if I will be going to East Africa or Kruger Park again. Also next year I will be replacing my G3+GF2 with the later models but I might hold onto the G3 untill after the safari. I'm thinking the third additional body may come in handy. So my ideas are G*+ 100-300 and GF* +...

I have been lurking here for years and now have a question that I can’t find an answer to, so I’ve registered to ask. I hope this is an OK place to put this question. We are finally moving up to B+W MRC filters after a lot of study and agonizing. For our first filter purchase (B+W 72mm UV Haze MCR (2C) 010M 66-070243) I found one Used at Adorama. I spoke to the sales rep about the condition since it is marked condition E (see below). The agent said “the glass is flawless” Needless to say,...

I have a K-01 and would like to know if there is a focus adjustment in that body?  This is in reference to reading reviews of the Tamron 17-50 2.8 lens where reviewers were saying that they added +3 to a K-5 or -10 to a Kr to correct the focus with the Tamron lens.  Also indicated that the Kx body did not have that capability.  Any K-01 users out there using the Tamron 17-50?

I'm still enjoying my K-r since I got it a couple of years ago.  Probably a few miles left on it yet.  I've been wondering though, with the newer models (K5II, K-30, K-50 etc.) have Pentax bothered to enter the Newfoundland Standard Time zone as an option in the setup?  This time zone is not available on the K-r and I'm forced to use Atlantic Time Zone (i.e. Halifax. Nova Scotia). Newfoundland Standard Time is UTC -3.30. Just curious... ____________________Andrew J. BlundonParadise NL Canada

I took this photograph last week with my 7D and 100-400L at 400mm.  The leopard was about 90/100 meters away and my settings were ISO 1 600, 1/250 and f7.1.  I used my 600EX-RT Speedlight which gave the highlight in the eyes, even at that distance.  The shots without the flash were duller.  I rested the lens on a bean bag and the car was switched off so there was no engine vibration.  It was about 45 minutes before sunset so it was getting dark and the leopard was in the shade.  This is a...
