I want to copy a large number of old 6x4 and 5x7 prints, obviously not to studio quality because lots are faded and poor colour anyway. Its to have a digital record of the last 50 years of trips and people. I have already done 3500 Kodachrome and Fujichrome slides. Scanning is too slow. The method I am using with some success is my Pentax Kr with a nice old 50mm M lens pointing vertically down, a piece of hardboard wrong side up marked with a grid and with low tack adhesive (spraymount...

For a little while now I have been saving to buy my first DSLR. I am no where near the amount needed. However, as I have been going through somewhat of a rough patch lately, my girlfriend felt sorry for me and offered to help me out, to chear me up. My brother in laws wife own a Nikon D3200 and I have been pretty impressed with the pictures she have taken. So I decided to go for a Nikon D3300 (Fairly good review on this page). Also because I can buy it locally (Holstebro, Denmark), which is...

Also, is there is a replacement Panasonic product to the GP KR402 that i can use for the time being till i send my broken camera to the service center in Texas for repairs? Please help, i need help urgently.
I know this grey/gray market thing has been beaten to death but I always find caveats. For instance, when reading Ken Rockwell's comments on the topic he issues dire warnings, even saying that Nikon DSLRs that are grey market cannot receive firmware updates... (Is that remotely truthful?) However, we must remember he makes money off of people buying cameras through the authorized retailers he advertises on his site. Therefore his opinion is tainted. Also, there are other comments out there...

Hi, everyone! Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to be thorough. Thanks for reading all the way through.... I shoot a lot of pictures of my high-school sons, in one of three main settings: Outdoors, high-school stadium lighting, in marching band. (I also shoot the football game, itself, but that's really just for fun and practice; my kids don't play football, they march in the band.) Outdoors, daytime, playing tennis Outdoors, daytime, playing Ultimate Frisbee. I have been getting by...

In December I will be travelling to Londolozi near Kruger National Park for a South African safari. I will be upgrading my camera and I am looking for advice on what to buy. I will be able to rent Canon or Nikon lenses at the lodge so I want to stick with those brands. 1) Mirrorless or DSLR? 2) One camera body I am considering is the Nikon D750. If DSLR is the way to go, is this overkill? Will a less expensive camera provide everything I need? Thank-you, Bob Clark Marblehead, Massachusetts
Hi friends. I am on holiday in Krakow, Poland and while my wife was in the clothes stores I was wondering in a huge electronics store called (MediaMarkt). Since 2002, I alwayd had a digital camera in the powershot family, the last ones being the G12 and Gx1, mainly used for wild life and plant(& casually insect) photography, scientific images, travelling and family outings. For this reason the articulated screen is a must in my cameras. I am in Krakov (Poland) for these 3 days and the price...
Hello All, I have been on this forum for little over a year now, but this is my first post. But have been actively reading many of the posts and learnt a lot from it, thank you all for that. Ok now, Amateur astronomy and Star gazing is one of my fav hobbies and I have started to spend time on astro-photography. I have done some wide-field, constellation and Lunar till now.. but feel i should try on DSOs. I own a K-01 and K-r.. and seems neither of these have an option to take remote shutter...
