One of the best dslrs especially for beginners. Immediately twin dials are available. Dust resistant. I enjoyed this camera. I sold it because of two reasons. One is that the AF-point selections are two concentrated near the center of the sensor. Secondly, the glass ecosystem is not that available in our country. The last one is the main deal breaker. The camera is made in the Philippines but go look for the glass and it is very difficult to find.  This can cripple any photographer.

About a year ago, I was on the fence about getting a Sony A77II DSLT to replace my Sony A200 DSLR. However, the A77II was a bit pricey & I figured that I wasn't ready to spend that much on a new body alone, plus a couple of my Sony lenses had seen better days. I started to look around at other options & saw the K-50. I looked at the specs, read some reviews, & decided that I was going to get a couple of them along with some lenses. What can I say? It has been very good. The K-50 is such a ...

Despite being an entry-level Pentax, it does have a few 'bests' under its belt for me particularly in its price bracket (actually lets be honest...at its price bracket it is unarguably the *best* buy of any model and brand there is). IMO best 16MP AA-filtered (AA filtering is a good thing IMO) Sony sensor with good skin tones in DSLR form. I am not a fan of Sony's skin tones on the A6000, or the skin tones I've seen out of entry level Nikons with Sony sensors (nor a fan of AAless without ...

I'm very surprised there aren't any user reviews here on DPR! My full review is on my blog, so here is my conclusion on what I like: (1) Build/design similar in quality and feel to the K20/10 DSLRS (2) Weather Sealed (kit comes with WR kit lens too) (3) Excellent optical finder- 100% accurate and bright/large (4) Dual customizable control ...

This problem is consistent with K50, K30, and even K500.The annoying LCD screen will not turn off as your using the viewfinder to take a photo. This also takes up battery power. I have to recharge my battery far to early. I even bought a back up due to this problem. I do not use the LCD screen as its worthless in sunlight conditions. I have tried everything even the Pentax forum to get this camera to turn off the LCD. This is a Pentax problem they have not addressed to this date. Pentax forum ...

I got this camera a couple of weeks ago, through Airmiles, and I must say, I love this camera so far.  I used to (and still) have the K-1000 and ME Super, that I used back in the 80's through to the mid to late 90's, that's when I got my 1st Digital point & shoot camera.  Since then I have had two point & shoot cameras, and loved using them.  It's only lately that I got the itch to get back into SLR photography, but the prices were way out of my league (given my current situation).  So Thank ...
