Hi, I have a Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG HSM lens which just stopped working correctly.  The lens was mounted on a Pentax K1 but I don't think that's relevant really.  It has been working fine after having the mount changed/upgraded for the K1 by Sigma Imaging UK but this week on a shoot my first pictures were hugely overexposed.  I found out the problem was the lens not stopping down from F2.8 to the aperture set to take the picture.  The problem is the lens not the camera as other lenses...

I have been using a K1 for about 6 months but I am a more than a little unimpressed by the amount of noise on my raw files compared with my old K5. I could easily go to ISO3200 on the K5 before being unduly bothered by noise (when viewed at 100%) but now I find the K1 raw images to be noisy above ISO 800 (when viewed at 100%) and really noisy at 3200. I was persuaded to go for the K1 for FF and expected to get better low light performance and low noise as part of the deal. The noise seems to...

Hello fellow Pentax addicted, I'm suffering of a strong GAS attack today due to a possible deal I've found: a K5-II plus a Tamron 17-50 2.8 in excellent condition for 350 € (I probably can choose to buy the k5-II alone for 200 €). So, my question to you: is the k5-II worth 200 € nowadays? I'm asking your opinion because I already know that this camera is not strictly necessary to me, having already a K3 and a K-30 (which I plan to sell regardless this deal): the fact is that I've always been...

Im going to get 28-135mm F4 for both video and photo uses in Aug event as I annually visit in Minnesota area. I know what to do and a standard zoom lens always helped me a lot. For 4 years, I used K-5 and 16-50mm F2.8 for pics only.  Now, I have A7rii and 85mm F1.4 but I def need a zoom lens.  28-135mm F4 is really cheap to rent instead of 24-105mm F4, 24-70mm F4, and 24-70mm F2.8 but I can not find exact information about 28-135mm F4 especially image sharpness. Any thoughts and information?

My German printer wants: Kelvin 6500, Gamma 2.1 and Candela 80 to 140 for matching his print against my monitor. Gamma and Kelvin no problem. Candela? I can only see the brightness slider in the Display menu. In Expert Mode no candela setting! Advise much appreciated.

I am thinking of buying the D7200 given the price since the introduction of the D7500. I use Faststone as my image processor for my Pentax MX-1 and Pentax  K-5. I want to double check that Faststone will handle NEF raw files. Also is it worth buying the camera body with the nikkor 18-140 lens as a kit? I primarily do macro work so will get Tamron's latest 90 2.8 macro offering. Thanks for your comments. Glen

I currently use Faststone (version 5.1) to process my images from my Pentax MX-1 and K-5.  How do I go about installing the latest version of Faststone without losing the hundreds of images that I have processed using the older version? And because I may buy Nikon's D7200 since the price is so attractive given the introduction of the D7500, I want to double check that Faststone will be able to process NEF raw files. Thanks for your input. Glen

I've been using Pentax since 2008 more or less and so far I've owned six models (K10, K20, K7, K5 and K3 plus the MX1). I recently sold my K3 and bought a KP,  which required some research, reading forums, reviews, etc. It's funny because even when the camera has good reviews and excellent IQ, Pentax users seem to dislike it. I mean, there are many negative comments regarding the size and capability, but even when I haven't received the camera yet, the test images I see online are superb. My...

Well I finaly did it. I got a K1 for a good price last week. So far really like it. Lot more functions than used to with the old K5 so a lot to learn. Seems to have about 4 ways to select any one feature! I like the "switch to crop mode" feature; it has stopped me worrying about "losing" the extra reach of the 1.5x crop sensor for wildlife. The K1 works well with 100mm macro and my 120mm 400mm Sigma. Unfortunately it does not like my 24-70mm F2.8 DG Sigma standard zoom lens and will not...
