I have a k5 that seemed to miss focus a lot.  I came across a beal on a k50 I couldn't pass up on so bought that.  It seemed to focus better with the 18-55 WR.  This evening I was playing around (inside, low light) and was very disappointed in the image results.  I compared them to my small sensor compact xz-2.  The xz-2 looked better.  I tried manual focus on the k50 and was able to get much better shots.   Is the focus control, or logic, in the lens or the camera body? I've been thinking...

Hi, Is it possible to use a similar Live view AF and quick magnification/ focus check function with K-1 and K-3 (also K-70 etc.) than what Pentax K-5 have?? : ...I found this K-5 feature very useful. And miss it with K-1. Thank you for help, Ari --- Ari Aikomus -'Why should I feel lonely ? is not our planet in the Milky way?'

Hey folks: Thinking about replacing my trusty K5, which replaced my trusty K10 six or seven years ago. I really don't want or need to go with the new FF Pentax, so at a glance the K3-II looks like it would be a logical choice. What say ye? Are you happy with it? Any issues?  Also, I have an old Tamron 17-70 which I use for much of my walk around work, but it is getting tired. Is there a good replacement / equivalent these days? Sorry I'm not an equipment guy and I tend not to keep up with the...

Hello K1 users My question is how well your FA* lens works on the K1 I still use a K5, and I like the FA* lens, but it's a APS-C sensor. How good are they on FF: - FA* 24mm f2.0 - FA* 85mm f1.4 - FA* 28-70mm f2.8 - FA* 80-200mm f2.8 If you have one of this lens, I would be very thankful, if you write how they works for you on your K1. I could try them (except my FA*24mm, which I forgot to take with me :-( ) on a K1-demo-day ...but this was way to short to take enough pictures for to get a...

Hi Folks, Yesterday I  use  the information on the forum to convert my 16-50 to screwdrive.   I found out that it is not possible to copy the  LENSEEP.LNS to the SD-card with the K3. I did a search on the forum and found that that is indeed not possible. I sold my K5 and have a mirrorless camera (with the same sensor as the K3) as a back -up. Is there another way to change the firmware of the 16-50  ?   (or do I have to buy a K5 back) Cheers Dick

Hello all, Can any one tell me why I cannot open a raff file, which I have converted into a DNG file, with capture one 6 pro? I am using windows 7 (32bit) and I have opened DNG files from my Pentax K5 without any difficulty. I dislike the software that came with the camera - a fuji EX2s - and would appreciate any advice. I know that upgrading my system would solve everything but I cannot afford to do that at this time. Many thanks Linda

A long post, a big question - and outlay for me... I've been wishing to upgrade from a Pentax K-5 for over a year, but can't quite decide, currently I'm stuck between the K-1 and 5DSR. I’m not including the D810 as hand-held I’m slightly worried about lens IS amplifying shutter-shock; I believe the K-1 and 5DSR are better in this regard. Or maybe the D810 is the camera for me!! how can anyone decide? In many ways I will be returning to FF, as 20 years ago (before digital) that was my work...
