Just went to a local camera store to test this lens out since the store is having a clearance sale on this lens in Pentax mount. I mounted the lens on the camera as usual, turned on the camera, and the AF moves from infinity to closest focus distance then back and the focus is not focusing on the point (I use 1 point center point focus) and there's no AF confirmation beep. But when I mount my 18-135 kit lens everything is fine again. Focuses quickly on spot with confirmation beep...
I'm starting to look into getting a 70-200 f/2.8 zoom. From this video, it appears the Sigma focuses faster:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqbnWI9Pvrw But what I have not really been able to determine is whether the newer HSM version of the Sigma focuses faster that the older, non-HSM version. I'd very much like to hear about anyone's personal experience with any of these three lenses. I would be using the lens primarily for night-time high school football, stadium lighting, that sort of...
I managed to scratch the LCD window on my new K-50 before I got the LCD protector on it. Polishing it just leaves it a bit hazy and I would like to replace it. I found one on eBay and it is for K5/K7. Are the LCD windows also the same for the K-30/K-50? Also does anyone know of a more reasonably priced source for these? $45 seems it bit much for these. It does include the tape and...
Hello, I apologize if this been asked too many times. I tried to use the search function but still unable to get final answer. I would like to ask for advices for what mirrorless to get. You see, in my country the price is rather strange, and not all models are available, so I'm rather confused what to choose. I plan to use them for macro, landscape, some birds, and night shot. Here are my options (all price are converted to USD from my country currency):SONY ALPHA SLT A3000 KIT 18-55MM USD...

Hello, I need you suggestion for my next purchase. I have the opportunity to get, for about the same price (660€) a pentax K30 with the following options: K30 + DA 18-135 WR + 4 Yr Warranty K30 + DA 18-55 WR + DA 55-300 WR + 2 Yr Warranty Both options have their strenght and weakness: Option 1 is more a walk aroud setup plus give me a better warranty cover Option 2 give me more reach at the cost of an higher frequency lens swap and less warranty cover Initially I was leaning toward the...

I currently own the K10D and am looking with envy at the K-30 or K-50 models for their larger pixel count and much improved high iso performance, amongst other things. However I did wonder if the improved high iso was at the expense of base iso? I'd appreciate some feedback from users who have upgraded from the K10D. Besides being a bit bigger are the raw files just as clean at base iso? Are they just as maleable in post work?
