One of the reasons that I chose Pentax when I bought my K-3 was that few other manufacturers at the time were producing cameras with good weather resistance. The world has changed and other manufacturers have since improved their weather resistant options along with other features like video, while Pentax video seems to be stuck in 2009. I've been holding onto my Pentax gear while waiting for a K-3 III with vastly improved autofocus and video, but my patience is running out. Fuji is looking...
Could I get opinions on what I could do better to photograph dark subjects on light backgrounds? I think that increasing the length of the exposure time and increasing the ISO would both have the effect of blowing out the background. This photo was taken with a Pentax K-3 at f/4.5, 1/80th sec, ISO 100 I know that the composition was not great but my question is about the lighting rather than the composition. Thanks for any advice.
Camera has started defaulting to saving images to SD1. Yes, I checked (three times) that I set the function correctly. Once I realized it, I copied all the SD2 images to SD1 & then formatted SD2; tried a couple of shots, & they go to SD2. Set the card to SD1 in viewing mode, & next image again to SD2. I acknowledge that I can live with this, but it is annoying. I further acknowledge that I expect that I'm doing something dumb, but as you can see, that's where I'm at. Anybody know the...
Hi all, I just bought a used lens (16-50) on ebay and I'm finding I have some focusing issues and I don't know if I'm being a pixel peeper or if I need to return it. If I zoom in to 50mm and manual focus then pull out it loses focus. I thought a rule of lenses was that you zoom in to get critical focus then pull back out and you should ensure perfect focus that way but this one goes out of focus. Secondly and more importantly, it seems to frequently (though not always) focus just a little...
This question to all K3/K3-II owners who might have experienced such issue: I just noticed today that the liveview button on my K3 (which I use very seldom) doesnt work anymore, as well in still mode for liveview as in movie mode to start and stop recording. Has anybody also met this issue? Is it an hardware problem or a possible bug? I reinitialized the factory settings, it didnt fix the issue; I then reinstalled the firmware (version 1.3), but it didnt fix the issue. Is there anything else...
My K-3 seems to have some dirt specks inside of it that are very prominent through the viewfinder, but in the RAW files I can barely see indications of dirt. I have used a hand blower to blow out the interior of the camera, including both the sensor and what I think is the OVF sensor which is above the main sensor, but the dirt is still there. I have looked all through the interior of the camera with a bright light and I don't see any dirt. Where could the dirt be and how can I get rid of it...
