Hi all, I just bought a used lens (16-50) on ebay and I'm finding I have some focusing issues and I don't know if I'm being a pixel peeper or if I need to return it. If I zoom in to 50mm and manual focus then pull out it loses focus. I thought a rule of lenses was that you zoom in to get critical focus then pull back out and you should ensure perfect focus that way but this one goes out of focus. Secondly and more importantly, it seems to frequently (though not always) focus just a little...
This question to all K3/K3-II owners who might have experienced such issue: I just noticed today that the liveview button on my K3 (which I use very seldom) doesnt work anymore, as well in still mode for liveview as in movie mode to start and stop recording. Has anybody also met this issue? Is it an hardware problem or a possible bug? I reinitialized the factory settings, it didnt fix the issue; I then reinstalled the firmware (version 1.3), but it didnt fix the issue. Is there anything else...
My K-3 seems to have some dirt specks inside of it that are very prominent through the viewfinder, but in the RAW files I can barely see indications of dirt. I have used a hand blower to blow out the interior of the camera, including both the sensor and what I think is the OVF sensor which is above the main sensor, but the dirt is still there. I have looked all through the interior of the camera with a bright light and I don't see any dirt. Where could the dirt be and how can I get rid of it...
I'm testing a used 150-450mm lens. These sample images were taken with my K-3 with my 1.4 TC attached, and I tried a test without the TC and got similar results. The lens seems to have good quality at the short end and poor quality at the long end when focused at objects a long distance away. The images are crops of larger versions and are downscaled. Is this a bad lens, or is my technique wrong, or is the lens only designed to focus on objects that are a shorter distance from the camera? I...
I have ordered a Pentax 150-450mm lens. I hear that the ergonomics are terrible but the IQ is very good for a long zoom. I like that it's weather-resistant. I'm primarily planning to use it for bird photos, but I imagine that I'll find occasions to use it for wildlife, sports, or other action photos. I will be using this lens with my K-3, which means that the effective range will be about 675mm. I've ordered a monopod and a CPL for it. Any suggestions about technique or other accessories...

Dear fellow Pentaxians, the autofocus of my trustworthy K-5 recently stopped working (after close to 100k shutter actuations), so I can now use it only for manual lenses and need to find a successor. I am considering the K-70 as a replacement and was wondering if other forum users have taken that route and are so kind to share their experience. I did a bit of research, so read about the missing top display, the smaller battery, bit slower burst mode etc. which makes it a bit of a down-grade,...
I erased an SD card using disk utility, formatted it in the camera, copied the bin file to the card, put it into the camera (in slot 1) and started while holding the menu button, but have not been able to get the "update firmware" screen, just the regular starting menu. UPDATE: I changed the bin file name, deleting the "-3" suffix, and it worked.
