Hi. I have recently been trying to freshen up my knowledge on DSLRs. Though, I am a beginner eventhough I have had a Pentax K20d/K7 from they where new (about 10 years). I have basically gotten that since I am a beginner, it´s me and not the camera that is the fault. I would like to know where to find information of how to take good pictures of running dogs, playing dogs, dogs that are runnung towards me, etc. I have no point I can set the AF at so to say. I know that there is hugh...
Still... learning the K-1's UI... and settings... coming from K20D and K-01. Q: The LV button switches the screen on and off. 1 user action. Is there a way to do the same for the info-settings screen? I mean, with one action on or off? For now i have to press info twice and then use 'the arrow keys' and select the 'off' or 'on' choice and press ok. (1st or 3rd from the left) Thx in advance. ;-) rgrds. Henk (K-1&01, K20D&DBG-2, GF2+14042X & LBA).
Any news about the K-1 availibility? I'm in the Netherlands and all stores are sold out. It's like a month ago: out-of-stock. Pre-ordering is possible. Do we know how come? Does somebody has insight info on this???? Any news of/when Pentax will deliver again worldwide and Europe / the Netherlands??? --;-) rgrds. Henk (K-01, K20D&DBG-2, GF2+14042X & LBA).
Saved some money and getting closer to pull the trigger on the K-1. Currently I'm using the K3 and have the FA 31mm f/1.8 and FA 50mm f/1.4 Also the DA 50-135mm f2.8 and the Sigma 10-20 f3.5 Just need your opinion on the lens I should think of getting with the K-1 I'm getting the new Pentax 70-200 for sure. Not sure about the 15-30 and 24-70 yet. Used to have the Macro 35mm limited but it took a hard hit and broke! If I get the new 3 FF lenses and the K-1, It will be more than $8000...
Since I shoot mostly in available light, I have not invested heavily in modern flash units. I have successfully used my trusty Vivitar 283 on my K20d via the hot shoe extension cord of the flash. I am hoping that might be an option with the K-1 as well, especially since it has no on board flash. Maybe someone here could tell from this information in the manual, whether or not my flash would be safe: "Caution• Flashes with the reversed polarity (the center contact on thehot shoe is minus)...
Hi there, I've recently started getting into Astrophotography, been going out to take photos every chance I get and when I can't I'm reading up online about what I can do to improve. I definitely see myself improving, that's not to say I don't still have much to learn. I'm sure like most I just started with what equipment that is already available to me which right now is my Dad's Pentax K20D. He has a number of lenses and was a great starting point but I'm thinking about investing some money...
Hi everybody :-) I'm wondering if i understood the following correctly. Pentax stated: "... As for the APS-C-size image sensor, the DA lens series, the cropping function makes it possible to use the APS-C-size center portion of an image. By changing the settings, you can also choose a 35mm full-frame angle of view. ...". What i understand is, i can use a aps-c-lens (DA), change camera settings and get a full-frame angle of view, meaning, my aps-c-lens is covering the 35mm full-frame sensor. I...

I've been testing my new K-3 using all my lenses and flash. One thing that I found a little bit unusual coming from K20D is that whenever I mount an external flash AF-540FGZ, the LCD on the flash will turn on also when I press the shutter button halfway. I know that there is a setting on the K-3's menu C4-22 where I can set it as High/Low/Off to control how my top LCD gets illuminated. The problem is when I choose High/Low, when I press shutter button, it will also turn on the flash's LCD...
