I have been a Pentax buyer going back to film ME Super. I bought a K200D and have been happily shooting with that for quite a while. I'm finally looking to take a plunge and upgrade a bit. I'm looking at K-70, especially for the variable angle monitor, ability to shoot some video (although I know it is limited quality), and finally moving to a weather sealed camera. The question I have is- Should I buy the camera with a Kit lens, and if so, which one? I have a few lenses that I am currently...

I'want to to buy an old (in technology years) Pentax DSLR to use my old M42 50mm Super Takumar (it's from a Spotmatic, the very first camera I ever had). I only need one dial to control the shutter speed, as I'll control the aperture right from the lens. I was thinking something along the lines of the "old cheap reliable workhorse", maybe a Kr or Kx. Is there any limitation regardless metering, or something? I already have a high end Pentax, but I want the "new-old one" to be attached to the...

So I have been shooting since the 1980's, for awhile as a professional but today more for myself. I have shot with Pentax, Yashica, Mamiya, Nikon, Canon and Olympus (EVF), I have been with Pentax since the K110d and I have worked with and purchased a ist, K110D, K200d, 2-K5's, K3, K3II and a KS2. I am careful with my equipment but I don't baby it. In Oct 2016 I purchased a KS2 kit for my wife and daughter to use when we went to Hawaii. While on a tour my wife was splashed and the KS2 started...

Hello everyone, I own a “dinosaur”, a K200D and I am used to its colors (I like it :-) ). Is there a camera with similar output, only in smaller package ? And, do newer Pentax DSLR have the same color output ? I share one of mine photos from recent trip in Dolomites. Thank you Alex

Hi all I'm a Nikon user but having some photo experience seems to make me a magnet for the family's  camera problems.. Hence this query from an in-law. He has a Pentax K200D and has 'lost many of his photos.. His story telling is not particularly plain but I'll state the obvious and hope someone here can shed some light on this please. I got the camera off him if I need test something out. He had a single 2Gb card.. (unbranded) went on holiday to Turkey and his images stopped showing on the...

I heard a lot of praise for the CCD DSLRs such as the E-1, A350, and K100D Super. Some say they have better color rendering some say they have a "film-like look". I'm eager to actually experiment and test as to what these claims actually mean and so am thinking of getting a used 2nd hand DSLR with a CCD sensor. I am not considering Nikon because I do not have any Nikon glasses atm. The Sony CCD DSLRs such as the A350, A380, A390, appear to have the newest CCD (for a DSLR not including Leica...

Hi, I'm new here, so please be patient while I fill in the background.  I presently have both of these cameras, which I use with the following lenses - Sigma 17-70 f 2.8-4.5,  Sigma 70-300 f4-5.6, Tamron 90mm f2.8 Macro. I also have a Tokina 400mm f5.6. I also have a Mecablitz Ringflash. I am a very casual photographer, who goes hiking, and carries a camera to take photos of insects, flowers, scenery, buildings, and anything that looks interesting. My garden, surrounded by forest, has...

sold my k-5iis,   which didn't have consistent color ,  especially blues and violets,    not like the k200d or k100d, which have pretty accurate color,    now i have the k-5 for sale as the autofocus is not really that great on the k-5,  i use it mostly manual focusing,  but it's a good camera,    so my question is ,  i guess,    if i sell both cameras,   and use the money for a k-3 ,   will it be any better ?  or should i just keep the k-5 ,   and be content ?

Had a Pentax K200D (since 2008) and have liked it. It was stolen, Insurance settlement permits me to buy another. Is there any reason I should not buy another K200D? I have several years experience with Pentax (camera & lens) and like them. I always see Canon and Nikon as better selling cameras. Why? Isn't Pentax seen as as good?  Why? Shelltracker55

So, I've been traveling the world for years - first with my Pentax K200D (who died with thousands of beautiful images under her belt) and then with the Olympus XZ-1 - which captured ♥ AMAZING ♥ photos in my years in Asia and the Caucasus mountains. I sold the beauty and tried to settle on the Xperia ZR smartphone for my traveling (still trying, its hard to get accustomed to that quality when youre used to the XZ1). Now, I'll be flying to see the Budapest Christmas market next month and from...
