I have a k-01, and have been toying with the idea of getting a MX-1 for something small with a zoom for vacation snaps instead of changing primes like I do now and lugging a bag of lenses around. My other choice is to buy something like the 18-135mm for the k-01, but I am not thrilled about the size. Also, my main grip about the k-01 is shutter lag and slow it is to catch focus sometimes. With a toddler, my keeper rate is way lower than I'd like and I am missing precious moments. Anyone have...
I dropped my K-01 with the 35mm f2.4 on it (about 600 mm onto a carpeted floor) and the lens will no longer autofocus. Other lenses are OK so it's not the K-01. It can be manually focused but it's really, really stiff. Any suggestions before I send it to Pentax please?
I have a K-01 and would like to know if there is a focus adjustment in that body? This is in reference to reading reviews of the Tamron 17-50 2.8 lens where reviewers were saying that they added +3 to a K-5 or -10 to a Kr to correct the focus with the Tamron lens. Also indicated that the Kx body did not have that capability. Any K-01 users out there using the Tamron 17-50?
Hello, I need to record some long-ish performances (our ensemble), and the camera will be unattended (= starts 5'-10' prior the beginning of the show, ends when I can go back to it). I was considering a camcorder (Canon Legria HF-R406), which ticks all the boxes, including price (audio will be a separate thing). Then I though that I already have a lot of excellent Pentax lenses and started looking at the K-01 (under 300E, fantastic still camera IMHO), but it apparently has a 25' limitation on...
Wonder if anyone here can advise me ? What i'm looking for is a setting on my K-01 with wich i can take pictures using kind of a 'soft-filter' (until i get my softlens... hopefully). On my K20, i know how-to, but thats after taking the shot. Is there any way to set it for all shots so i don't have to process my pics afterwards. Just ... soft filter. Thanks in advance ... :-) --;-) rgrds. Henk (K-01, K20D&DBG-2, GF2+14042X & LBA).

I have a K-01 and am interested in buying a standard zoom for it. I have pretty much narrowed my decision down to getting a new version Tamron 16-50 and have been comparing prices at Amazon with less expensive lenses from sellers in Japan which are sold as new with no lens hood, also Ebay has some sellers in the low $300 range, and finally KEH has some used lenses at reasonable prices. I have bought lenses from all three places and am more comfortable with KEH. I should probably be more...
Pentax K-01: FA31/1.8 Limited lens does not focus. Green A on the lens aligned with the red line on the lens. Custom Menu 3/16 Using Aperture Ring set to Enable. Lens makes an effort to focus, but remains unfocused. Cannot fire the shutter. Any advice, please. --babujr
I've been in the market for a Speed Light for a while now, as I have never owned one, but I've heard that getting your flash off your camera can be on the best things you can do to improve the quality of your images. Currently I shoot with an Olympus m43 epl-1 (w/ either the Panasonic 20mm or the Oly 45mm) and a Pentax K-01 (usually using the Pentax 18-55 WR zoom or a manual-focus 50mm). Don't laugh; I'm on a small budget, and these cameras have proved to be quite capable. I have the...
