The only issue I really have with the k-01 is af speed. I like the size, the weight the build. I am worried about the k3 heft, but I like the sensor shift to help even the slightest bit with converging angles on architrcture and interior shot and hopefully be able to track toddlers better. Pull the trigger?
Hello, I just ordered a K-01, and I'm eagerly awaiting it's arrival. I read a lot of reviews before buying it, and every second review complained about the flimsy rubber cover on the side, and fear of it breaking eventually. Not that I'm afraid of that, but I'm curious if it actually broke for anyone. Can you share your experience after a few months/years of shooting with it? Cheers, --Inkheart
I usually shoot with M mode by setting the exposure according to the position of EV bar in OVF. And I used to having the EV bar at -1 (under exposure), and Auto EV Compensation OFF. Everything was OK until one day of last month, when I found the LCD on my K5-IIs was so bright that it washed out the whole image, if I do Live View, Instant Review and Playback the images I am taking. Then I adjusted the LCD Display Settings to Brightness -3, Contrast +3. The Playback of images is acceptable now,...

I'm just looking at the direction the features are going in. Dust Removal: SP coating and CMOS sensor operation vs Sensor movement w SP coating on low pass filter. So ultrasonic DR on a Pentax entry level DSLR. No more clunky sensor thrashing. A return of entry level DSLRs with PEF support. Only rated for use down to 32F, not the 14F of the K-500. Is this the first entry level without wireless flash support with the on-board flash or is it a return? I don't know the specs of old DS and DL...
I consider myself as a hobbyist ever since owning a Powershot A560 when I was 13, 7 years ago. I haven't used my camera for a long time due to school, yet I would still shoot with my phone or a colleague's DSLR during school events. Recently, my phone's rear camera stopped working, and my old camera is now worn out (my brother used the camera for quite a long time), thus I'm looking for a new camera. I like to shoot in low light, thus sensor size is important. DOF also seem to be important....
Hi all, I'm going to Japan in a couple of months and will stay in Kyoto. I was thinking to buy a K-01 + 40mm kit (saw the prices on their site), but won't be able to move to Tokyo where they have a big shop. Do any of you have experience with the Kyoto Yodobashi shop (I think it's called Yodobashi Multimedia or something)? Are they well stocked? Do you think I should send a mail in advance? Is there any other good Pentax retailer in Kyoto? Thanks in advance.
I am looking for a second camera to fit in a jeans/ shorts pocket for pics of 3 year old and 3 month old (currently) out and about, and on vacations. Out of these two camera's what would you buy? I am coming from Pentax DSLR's and K-01 and shooting primes, which I will keep for other uses and when the situation calls. Here's my thoughts. Ricoh GR pro's: 1.) APS-C sensor matching the Pentax k-5, in your pocket 2.) snap focus seems like a great idea for my subjects. 3.) Great interface praised...
I have a Pentax k01 and a number of Pentax lenses. I am interested in getting the x-e2 but having a few doubts. There is a five hundred dollar difference between the x-e1, with 18-55 lens, and the x-e2. Is the 2 worth it? Also, the k-01 is a good camera and I was hoping someone might have experience with both and give me your thoughts. Thanks, jim
Have anybody used this combo? How good is it for indoor event shooting without flash? How fast and precise is the autofocus? I love my "brick" but want something much better than the kit zoom: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alex_virt/sets/72157639014313554/ --www.gridenko.comhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/alex_virt/
