I like the JPEG color and noise handling of the K-01 better than that Canon, Sony and Nikon. No one likes digital image noise but Pentax have found a way to integrate that noise into the image so that to me at least, it does not suffer. Do the newer models continue with that rendition and noise handling? I noticed that some companies such as Canon have changed their noise handling considerably, and not to my liking . I gave up on the SX50 which was considered to be the best of their S series....
For those here who are familiar with the K-01 and have looked into other mirrorless, specifically the Canon M50 or similar, which do you prefer at this point in time? I have grown accustomed to the K-01 and its handling and color rendition. For a digital camera it seems to render natural scenery and subjects very well. Since that is my primary usage for a digital mirrorless camera, I have no reason to switch to a Canon, were it not for the absence of certain lenses in K mount and shaky AF at...
Hello folks, I have a K-01 from a few years ago that I used recently without issue and was looking forward to using again. I powered it on today with the 18-55 DA WR (KS-2 kit lens) and noticed that the top/back scroll wheel (not mode dial) doesn't appear to work. It rotates just fine with the same "clicky" feel and does not feel loose. But the wheel doesn't do anything. It also does not appear to work in menus or in any other mode. I replaced it with a fresh battery and also used the...
I just discovered that switching to Liveview on the K-1 disables the flash function. Am I missing something, or can someone explain why? I found this when I went to use Image Sych as a remote, which effectively puts the camera in Liveview mode with the phone display. PTTL flash (internal or Sigma external) works with Liveview on my K-3 and (of course) K01 so the technology exists.
I would like to switch from Pentax camera systems to Nikon. My major problem with Pentax is its focusing system, I own the K-30, K-50, K-01, K-5II and K-3, all give me a 50% hit or miss on the focus in bright or low light situations and drives me nuts. I don't want to invest a ton off money on my first Nikon so was looking at possibly a good used D610. I am a hobbyist and mostly take pictures at the Zoo's, air museum's and my favorite granddaughter, Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Still... learning the K-1's UI... and settings... coming from K20D and K-01. Q: The LV button switches the screen on and off. 1 user action. Is there a way to do the same for the info-settings screen? I mean, with one action on or off? For now i have to press info twice and then use 'the arrow keys' and select the 'off' or 'on' choice and press ok. (1st or 3rd from the left) Thx in advance. ;-) rgrds. Henk (K-1&01, K20D&DBG-2, GF2+14042X & LBA).
