I just got back from the local camera store where I played with this camera for a bit. The reviews seem to do this camera justice. The camera looks and functions very well except for one little thing: The lens must be set to "Auto" before the camera will take an image. If the F-stop ring is moved off of "A", an image will not be taken. Other than that, all of my Pentax lenses fitted right up. Near-perfect combination of quality, price, size/weight, standard batteries and wide selection of lenses (pre-digital prime lenses are available at *very* reasonable prices, but don't tell anyone). Other plus points: DOF preview. No problems whatsoever fitting any battery options. Big bright viewfinder, even for a specs wearer. A very good camera! Perfect trade off between minimum of controls and maximum of control !! Tested it myself against the Nikon D70 and decided to buy the Pentax: less weight, image quality only slightly less, uses regular AA size NiMH or CR-V3 lithium batteries, better viewvinder view angle and last not least: I can use all my Pentax lenses, macro converter and dedicated flash (with very good results! even my 12mm non-focussing fisheye). note: ignore comments by "gmartin2000": the "custom ...View review in forums Leave a comment on this review
