Hi, so my friend originally owned an Olympus E500 but has recently upgraded to a D3200 after the E500 finally gave up the ghost. Now she used the E500 with a Zuiko 70-300mm lens that apparently could go up to 140-600 equivalent with some zoom doubling feature and she liked that for her wildlife photography. She has a Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6G AF Nikkor SLR lens with the D3200 but is finding that it isn't quite giving her the reach she had with the Zuiko so is looking to get a teleconverter,...
I'm saving for a new lens to add to the fold. I have an Evolt E500 along with the Zuiko 14-45 and 40-150 right now and want to add a lens each for the following applications: macro, wide angle and a zoom lens to take longer distance shots. As most of us do I want all three right now and don't want to wait but I must. My question is this: is there a lens that will accomplish two of the three applications I list above or is that asking too much of a lens? Any replies would be...
I recently purchased a Vortex HD 20 Spotting Scope w/adapter for coupling the Vortex scope with my Olympus 500 DSLR camera. Once coupled, I realized I must change the usual photograph settings on the e500. I need to contact another user to get this information. Please contact me if you have this configuration. Thanks!
This question is probably more for female owners of mirrorless cameras. I used to have a DSLR (Olympus E500) and a P&S (Canon S90). I carried my DSLR in a dedicated camera case and my P&S in my purse pocket. I recently got A5100 because of its DSL-like IQ and its small size. It's so small, I thought it would fix in my purse! The thing is, it DOES fit, but not in an inner pocket because of the protrusion; it just does not lie flat against the purse wall inside a interior pocket like Canon S90...

Has anyone tried using a WiFi card like the Toshiba FlashAir and a Compact Flash SD card adapter with an E500? Does it work? Would like to wirelessly connect the E500 to my smartphone, tablet and laptop. That is, if it's even possible at all with such an old camera.
I have been using a Olympus E500 for a long time now and I am now looking to upgrade. I want to get serious in wildlife photography and wanted to know what has worked for others. I am looking in the mid price range for the camera. Please let me know what you think. Thanks
Hi folks. Was thinking of getting an inexpensive (read: cheap) ;-) Four Thirds camera body to use with my Zuiko 35mm f/3.5 macro, and a couple of kit lenses. My E500 is unfortunately falling apart and next to inoperable. Saw a used E1 going for $75 and an E520 for $144 off eBay. Any suggestions? Doesn't have to be an Oly. Thanks in advance.
I am in a 5-year battle with my insurance company over a house fire. They claim their Olympus E500 camera skipped 44 numbers in sequence when they changed the battery of their camera. That is, they have photos numbered, say, 1 through 225 with the last one taken at 11AM and then photos numbered 269 through 350 with the first taken at noon. Of course these photos would have been of some of the critical pieces of evidence. I also have an eye witness that saw them being taken. My question: ...
