I am thinking of buying the D7200 given the price since the introduction of the D7500. I use Faststone as my image processor for my Pentax MX-1 and Pentax K-5. I want to double check that Faststone will handle NEF raw files. Also is it worth buying the camera body with the nikkor 18-140 lens as a kit? I primarily do macro work so will get Tamron's latest 90 2.8 macro offering. Thanks for your comments. Glen
I currently use Faststone (version 5.1) to process my images from my Pentax MX-1 and K-5. How do I go about installing the latest version of Faststone without losing the hundreds of images that I have processed using the older version? And because I may buy Nikon's D7200 since the price is so attractive given the introduction of the D7500, I want to double check that Faststone will be able to process NEF raw files. Thanks for your input. Glen
I plan to replace my Sony HX9v with something more ambitious. Size should be not too much bigger but I will probably use a belt pouch anyway. Now, when I read the Imaging Resource review, the LX7 get 5 points out of 5. However, when checking the house poster and the still life at ISO400, I'd say, the XZ-2 comes out on top, with the LX7 and MX-1 second. Maybe I'm wrong but this is my impression. So, can some LX7'ers out there tell me the actual score in real life shooting? When is the LX7 good...
I'm planning to buy a superzoom and a compact to use for travel. For the compacts I've narrowed down to Pany LX7, Oly XZ-2 and the Pentax MX-1. Then I saw the Casio EX-10/100. Now, after some close looking it seems they have remarkably similar specs to the Olympus XZ-2 and Stylus 1 respectively. Do they share technology? And does anyone have experience in using them? How do they stand up to the more major brands? I used an EX-600 back in the early days of digital and liked it expect for the...

Bottom Line: I'm thinking of replacing the MX-1 with a G9X. I think the 1" sensor will make up for the dimmer lens, and the pocket size will have me carrying it more, thus not relying on my iPhone as much. Downsides: Wife will be a little mad I bought another camera and it is not as beautiful as the MX-1. (this is the price for true compactness, it seems, as the Ricoh GR is also ugly) Full Story follows: Years ago, when I was more "serious" of a photographer, I shot my dSLR . (APS-C sensor, 6...

Shooting my MX-1 I find a lot of noise in the images, even at low ISO values and in RAW files. What would you suggest or what do you use as a good software to get rid of the grainy appearance in your images without running into a watercolor effect at the same time ? Your opinion is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Rudi.
