Have the opportunity to take pix in a couple of weeks at Mt Wilson on the 60" telescope -- and I don't know the first thing about how to go about it! Was advised to come over here from the 4/3rds forum. The Observatory sent a 3-page document with helpful information, but I don't know whether I'll need a T-mount or a 2" adapter I've been advised to get and how to use them, or just try to shoot through the eyepiece with a prime lens as suggested in the info. Going with a group as part of a...

In a couple of weeks I am going to have the opportunity to visit Mt. Wilson Observatory and shoot pix thru the 60" telescope eyepiece with my EM5. The Observatory sent helpful information for all kinds of cameras from smart phones to DSLRs and suggested techniques including using prime lenses to T-mounts. I don't have a prime or T-mount but would be willing to buy either for this opportunity. If a prime, which one? Observatory suggests 35-100 mm (35 mm film equivalent). I have no experience...

Hi I'm going for a little backpacking holiday through a bunch of European cities and I decided that it's a great opportunity to get into a little photography.I want to be able to expand my lens options later on (i.e. once I know what I'm doing), and I've settled on mirrorless because I like the compact form and the price. I'm eyeing up the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mk ii and now I'm trying to decide what lens(es?), bag, and basic kit I want to go with it on my holiday. My main limitations are:budget...

I didn't see much thread here about the common problems of Olympus, so, I'm really curious if there is really a problem. In my country (Thailand), Olympus is famous for its problem with 1. The bad service, which make other problem more severe 2. EM5 and mkII, EM10 and mkII have problem with the mechanic shutter, it struck. Regardless of how many shutter you took, if you're unlucky, the shutter will definitely jammed. If you have good luck, it will happen before the warranty runs out. 3....

Hi all I'm looking at getting a longer lens for a trip to Namibia, and would like advice over whether to go with the Olympus 75-300 or the Panasonic 100-300.   Lenses such as 100-400 well outside my price range. Apols if covered before, I've searched the forum and internet and found some comments, but would like views on how these two lenses stack up in terms of sharpness at mid to long end and focus speed on an OM-D EM5 (or similar) especially given the wider aperture of the Panasonic.  I'm...

when you review a particular camera, e.g. olympus omd em1 in 2013,  84% gold award, does this mean that this camera is still better than the olympus omd em5 mark 2 reviewed in 2015?

Just purchased a 14-150mm lenses and decided to check my M5 setup, Setting up the Picture Mode I decided to take a picture  at each setting, when I loaded the files into my PC and printed each picture I could not see any difference an  any of them except the Monotone. Anyone else have the same experience or am I missing a step?

Hello all dpreviewers! Got a question for y'all regarding lenses and landscapes. So I own an Oly E-M5mk ii and towards the end of this year I'm gonna be taking it to Iceland with me for a few days. I have but two lenses, the 14-150 and the 75-300. Now, I know there is no rule to shooting landscapes and focal lengths, as I've discovered personally, but I have a friend who's been there recently and suggested something quite wide to fit all of that beauty into. I'm aware that my lens is...

It is Milky Way season, and I will be doing some landscape astrophotography for the rest of the summer.  An important part of this type of photography is the ability to set the shutter speed on your camera, and as I was setting up my E0M5ii this evening, I noticed the same thing I remembered from last summer:  from 15 seconds onward the only options are in five-second intervals until 30 seconds when this changes to 10 second intervals up to 60 seconds.  And this is true in both shutter speed...
