I have an e-620 that recently seems to be having issues with flash sync. When the camera is set to auto flash or flash on, all images are underexposed as if the flash is not firing but it is. All images with FL-50 on camera are fine. I have not had this problem in the past, did I change some setting that I do not know about or is the sync system not working. My other e-420 bodies continue to function as expected. Any ideas would be appreciated. e-620 on camera internal flash
Hello, My son is thinking about a replacement for is 6 year old waterproof and shockproof canon d10 underwatercamera. This is the facebookgeneration! He has only known the digital era and is used to phonecam snapshots, snapchat, gopro for movies, iphoto and imovie... This generation uses images faster than we can think of. He has outgrown his d10 and only uses it for stills in saltwater or mud, and even then his gopro (hero, basic model) has taken the place of its d10. As a sailor, it is...
Hi, I have recently bought a used Olympus E420 in very good low use condition. Taking out the full card I found that I couldn't put an identical card into the aperture. It went in most of the way but wouldn't enter completely, no matter which way I tried. Is there a knack to this or am I being stupid? I would appreciate a reply and an answer. Regards, Leonard.
Recently my car was stolen in addition to my E-5, E420. And 4 of my lenses. (14-70mm was one of them) I am looking to stay with the Olympus brand and am wondering what all of your thoughts are on replacing the E-5 with another E-5 or making the move to the OM-D line. I do a lot of backpacking and outdoors adventures and my E-5 had routinely found itself "abused" by the elements or by rocks on the sides of mountains. It held up amazingly well especially paired with the 14-70 lens. Good...
Hi there, I'm new to the forums but have been using this site for ages for it's valuable information. I'm an Oly E-420 owner with two lenses. I've had it for 8 years. It's been a very resilient camera, probably more than 100k accuations. The poor little lad has been acting up recently. When I go outdoors for about 30 minutes the camera acts as it should for the first 10 shots. Then after pressing the shutter release, through the viewfinder I see the shutter flicker and the motor 'sounds...
I have two e-420s, 14-42, 40-150, 25, 9-18. The 9-18 was purchased after recommendations from this group which turned out to be a great purchase. I would like a longer lens for wildlife and am considering an off brand 500/800/1000 mirror or traditional lens. What are your thoughts? I had been thinking that the 70-300 would be my next purchase but am not sure it is long enough. And the off brand lenses are so inexpensive. Thanks.

I have two possibly related questions. My photos of people / portraits are always sharp -- I always go on Aperture priority mode and select the smallest f-stop and get nice photos. I always find my landscape or general street photos lacking in sharpness or quality. To be honest I never know around what f-stop to use, I usually use something around 8 and 11. Are there any tips for getting sharper photos? I always have AF points set to be automatic, except for when I'm taking a portrait, in...
