I lend this camera from a friend to compare it with my Canon A700. In the beginning i thought this can't be fair but the Olympus nearly blew my mind! The picture quality is amazing for a camera that aged! I love the macro capabilities of the Canon A700 and the Olympus isn't any badder in this discipline. It offers a (well hided in the menu ;-) super macro mode. Great camera with many manual controls. If you have one keep it! Problems: The battery life from 4 1700 NiMH's isn't that long, focus ...

I used this camera for 3 years before I upgraded to the Fuji s9000. This is a good P&S camera and if you find it cheap enough is a good alternative to the new under $200 4mp P&S cameras available. This camera has excellent macro capabilities. My work camera is a new Canon Powershot A520 and quite frankly, the Olympus is superior in every way despite being over 3 years old. The smart media card it uses is obsolete however. Problems: Slow start up times Shot to shot times are slow Some shutter lag

Was going on vaca, so decided to buy a digital camera. Played with it a few days, and found some pictures had noise in them (horizontal striations). Went on vaca and took some very nice pictures, but every once in a while, the noise was back. I like the quality of the camera and the pictures, but... (read problem section) Problems: Tried to contact sony about the noise problem, but it's nearly impossible to speak with someone at sony on the phone. On the Sony web site, I required a ...

I bought the C-4000Z about one month ago, Hong Kong price is HK$3550, about US$455. Canon G2 is about HK$5000. My last digital camera was Fujifilm MX-1700 (1.5mega pixels) which I used for 30 months, it was HK$3900 at that time. Below is my comments on the C-4000Z. 1) Image quality is very good. Sharp and natural color. 2) Full manual control. Especially the adjustable white balance is useful to deal with complex lighting. 3) Super macro mode down to 2cm is excellent. 4) The lens can ...

Olympus C-4000 is my first DC. Because I am a beginner, I selected it for its price and 4M pixel quality. After using it for about 2 weeks, I found the picture's quality is far from what I expected. Whether in room or outside, a lot of dots on the background and sawtooth on the line when I use the P mode. But in the micro-space shooting, it works pretty good. Problems: Picture is not very sharp and clear for the dots and sawtooth.
