I posted these on the BW forum and some of the feedback suggested it would be good to check with this forum.  Downloaded RAW in NX2 and processed in Raw in Capture NX2, then converted to Jpeg with no further adjustments.  I admit that I am still tending to use the somewhat aggressive PP I got used to with the D7000, so some of this could be due to some adjusting of contrast. I typically only use high pass sharpening at about 2.0 or less.  There is some vertical banding, especially on the BW...

Hi all. After many years of using bulky Nikon equipment, I am looking for a smallish, compact camera to take along with me when I travel (extensively). I began thinking of excuses not to take my huge D700, and later 750, with 2 or 3 lenses along as the kit needed an entire separate bag, etc. The main type of photography is usually travel-places, sights, aircraft (I'm a pilot), a bit of casual video, my kids... I considered the Sony 6300 and Fuji X-E2S, but I have always wanted a Leica. So I...

Hi, I just recently bought my first Nikon gear and today it seemed that focus broke on my 70-300 lens. I bought it used a couple of months ago, it seemed to be in very good condition. If I moved the manual focus ring, the meter in the window only moved between closest up to 7,5ft, it was more or less the same when using AF mounted on my D700 body. However now this evening after trying moving the focus ring back and forth without any success, I then again mounted it on the body again moving...

Hi guys, Last week i shot a coupe of outdoor survival events that involved people "flying" between the trees. Because of strong backlight from the sun, the dark surroundings and the speed of the subjects, this was pretty tricky. I'd like some tips or tricks if you have any. what I did was the following tried to minimize the backlit open foliage in the frame, but the start point, however was strongly backlit. tempered the highlights and under expose the subject and recover shadows in post...

Hi folks, currently I shoot with D700 with dying shutter and mirror mechanism (almost 200K actuations)  and I look towards K-1 as my next camera:) Can those of you which have both make a side by side comparison of viewfinders? Which camera has brighter one? In my opinion d700 viewfinder is pretty dark. I shoot only f1.4 primes and man, its dark. A friend of mine has got Sony a900 and even when Sony got mounted a Zeiss f2.8 zoom the viewfinder in the a900 was so much brighter. Just couldn't...

I had the opportunity to buy a used Sigma 300mm 2.8 APO EX DG HSM lens. Optics were fine, rendered sharp images. Everything was fine for a week, then I noticed that while under Autofocus-C on my Nkion D700 body (whether using the AF-On or shutter button), after about 4-5 seconds of continuous autofocusing, the lens would stop focusing and lock the aperture down to f32 for as long as the in-viewfinder display is illuminated (mine is set for 4 seconds). After the display turns off, I can press...

Hi guys, I just bought my D800 and am disappointed to find that my Nikkor-P Auto 105mm f/2.5 manual lens (Probably made somewhere between 1950-1970) does not work with the D800 - it can mount without snagging anything, but gives the blinking ERR message only after I release the shutter. This lens has worked perfectly and beautifully on my D7100, with no problems. Since this is a Pre-AI lens, it does not have any auto capabilities and the "Set to minimum aperture" advice does not apply to...

Much as I loved my Nikon D700 it was getting too heavy to lug everywhere, so I bought a little Fuji X1-T. The lens that was generally on the Nikon was the AF-S NIKKOR 24-120mm f/4G ED VR Lens, and I'd love to be able to use it on the Fuji. I've never played with adapters before but can't find a lens that gives me what the 24-120 does. I've seen a few adapters, at varying prices with varying claims about what they will do. I'd really appreciate some advice about what adapter will give me the...

Hello,  I have just purchased a Nikkor 20-35 f2.8 D lens for use with my D700, the problem is when looking at the exif info with a Apples Aperture 3 it shows up as a Tokina AT-X 20-35 lens !    is this an internal chip fault with the lens or Aperture's reading of the lens? Regards Davy
