Just bought a D2X where the menu is locked on Underclass 1 settings. Focusing is the only option and flash sync at 125th sec. Is anyone familiar with this issue and is there any way to get beck to the default menu? Tried to do a reset and Flash the current firmware and both were rejected by the camera. Please let me know if this is user repairable or do I need to ship this out for service or am I just plain old screwed?
I am probably opening myself up to ridicule, but I have been having horrible image issues with my newly purchased D4s, specifically in the area of winkles being exaggerated on my wife's face. I bought the D4s to replace my well used D2x, specifically for the low light capabilities that this new technology affords. Like everyone, I was amazed at the ability of the camera to produce an acceptable image almost by candle light. One evening as the outside light was beginning to dim I took some...
I am contemplating replacing my current & well used D2x with a new D4s. My current favorite lens is a Nikon 28-70 2.8 D. Are there any D4s functions or features that will not be available if I use this older lens? The same question would apply to my two other lens, a first generation 70-200 2.8 AV & a 14 2.8, both Nikon lens. In the process I have also been tempted to replace my 28-70 with a newer 24-70 2.8 or 24-70AV. Any thoughts, plus or minus, as I have enjoyed my 28-70 for many years.
Hey guys, I just purchased a Promaster CF 8 GB memory card for my Nikon D2X. Now the manual only recomends the San Disk and the Lexar, but remember, that manual was written about 8 years ago. Maybe they didn't have the "Promaster" back then. Can anyone tell me if that flash drive is OK to use with the D2X. Nikon makes a big point about using what they recomend in the manual; that if you don't use what's recomended, the apocolypse could begin. I don't want to mess up my...

Hello. I have problems with framing. My body is Nikon D2x and i have notice that what I frame through viewfinder is different as shot. It seems to be moved left, so image loose something from right and add something on left. I was at Nikon service provider and benn told that "should happen on some cameras..." I really think this could be repaired. Anybody know what it should be and how to fix it? Thanks!!!
Good day to you all, trying to make up my mind for the next camera, I ask for your valuable opinion. The past: D100, D2h, D2x, D3, D4. Wildlife only, but recently also people, mainly ethnic minorities; I use my gear only when I travel, a new house project has postponed my next trip to March 2017. I just sold the AF-S 500mm f/4D IF-ED II, it was 10 years old, time to replace it, and two D4’s, better decision then keep them inside a Dry Cabinet for the next 18 months. I was considering the D5...
I'm plan to buy a used DSLR for taking kids photos with a budget of $500. I looked at ebay and found used D2X and D300 are going for roughly the same price. My question is: why people still buy used D2X given they can have D300 for the same price? Is there any magic for D2X? Mark
