I just purchased on e-bay the above TC with the expectation of using it with my variable aperture zoom lens. I mounted it on a d7100 with the above lens. And then I found out auto focus was hit and miss! For whatever reason I was not expecting this. It works very well with my 300 f4 of course but I was expecting the option to use it with a zoom - with AF. MF is of course a workable option but less convenient. Was I wrong in my original assumption? Should I be happy with the MF on a...

hope this is the right place to ask this one?? The attached image has a noticeable blue fringe around most of the blue damsel fly and part of the gray damsel. What causes this and how to fix?? I used a D7100 with Nikkor 70-300VR (do not recall if VR was on). This is not a major problem for me - just noticed on this capture. The image posted is a SOOC but cropped to about 22% from original (and then exported at reduced size again). EXIF data: ISO100, 1/200s, f7.1, +1/3EV, spot metering, AP,...

I recently purchased the Nikkor 70-300mm lens to replace the 55-200 lens that came with my D60 camera kit. This is my first DSLR and I love it. I keep it on auto most of the time, but have "played" with the settings - enough to know that I don't know what I am doing. I hope to find time to play some more. I shoot mostly family, sports, and classroom activities. My concern is when I shoot family activities or in the classroom I am constantly changing the 70-300 lens with my 18-55 that came...

Hi All, Apart from careful handling and cleaning of the outside, do lenses generally need any maintenance by specialist people after some time of constant use?  All my lenses, but one, are Nikkor and fairly new. I would appreciate some feedback. --Thanks,Daisy AU - Brisbane

Hello,I recently read on another website that pictures taken with the 28-300mm at telephoto length were better than pictures with the 70-300mm VR. I have always heard that telephoto lenses are better than all-in-one lenses so this was surprising. Is this statement true, or is the 70-300mm VR a better lens? Thanks!
