Hello, I need some help making a decision. I currently have my d7100 with 50mm 1.4D, AF-S 70-300mm and a 18-200mm. The 18-200 replaced my kit 18-105 lens for a trip to Europe last fall (I wanted an all-in-one lens for the trip to save space and weight). I have used my 70-300 on a number occasions at sporting events or while camping, in the woods, at the beach (only 3-4 times a year maybe). I was very pleased with results but at the same time quite annoyed with having to constantly switch...

Ok, so I'm a beginner at photography and I made a silly mistake at not taking photos with a lens before buying it. Ok so the lens is the nikon 70-300mm and the camera is a Nikon d5500, it the second one that they released which has an swm and so on. the problem is that on the sides of the photo its out of focus, is it some aperture setting or are the lenses misaligned. if so can it be repaired and will it be costly? Thanks, Brandon.

Hi all, i have a D5100, and I'm planning a safari in Etosha (Namibia) in september: would the Tamron 70-300 VC (or the Nikon 70-300 VR) worth the extra money and wight compared to the kit lens 55-200 VR? I'm currently quite happy of the 55-200, light, decent autofocus, good sharpness, it's relatively slow, but I used it only in daylight on the alps, the only really bad thing is the manual focus ring. in your experience passing from equivalent 300mm to 450mm is it really worth? is the quality...

Hi all, This is my first post on DPReveiw. In preparing a wildlife trip, I'm looking for a reasonable telephoto lens that suits my Nikon D7100 body (DX sized sensor). The sole lens I have, is a portrait zoom (Sigma 17-70mm "C") which also sees landscape use most of the time, but for the next trip I'll need (much) more focal length. Since I try to shoot without tripod when possible, and due to luggage limitations, I'd like to avoid carrying a heavy lens that needs a permanent tripod mount, so...
I have hunted around to answer this question without starting a thread and my results seem to be a mixed bag so I thought I would ask directly! I recently bought a used Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED on Ebay. The seller claimed it was "As New" used for less than 4 hours but I suspect that was just a fib told to help sell the lens (I also noticed he had sold another of these lenses about a year prior. Not sure what to make of that). I bought this lens to upgrade my kit 55-300mm DX lens that came...
