A few days ago I snapped some photos and I noticed that one side of all the photos appeared to be blurry. I thought that the lens was just dirty. Looked at it and saw this: Do you see the groove around the front element? What could have done this? The lens cap? Here is an other photo: I'm sad. :(
Hi everyone! So about two months ago I got a brand new Nikon d 3300 and it was working fine. But just yesterday the manual mode (Not The Focus) but the actual manual mode stopped working. I have tried resetting the camera to its original settings. I also tried the upgrade firmware and it is still not solving my issue. What happens is the fallowing, I set the dial to manual but the aperture auto adjusts itself almost like it is in automatic like a point and shoot. Does anybody have a...
Hello there, first post! Thanks to reviews read here and elsewhere, I've ordered a Nikon D3300 as the first DSLR for my wife and myself. We intend to use it for typical family photography: holiday pictures and the kids around the house. While ordering, I accidentally purchased a set consisting of a D3300 with the old 18-55 VR lens, about $35 cheaper than with the VR II. I wasn't paying attention and assumed I was buying the 18-55 VR II kit lens, but alas, I was wrong. The order is already...
Hi everyone, I got my entry-level DSLR about a year ago, and I've been pretty happy playing around with it and learning, but I've started to find I'm hitting some limitations. I've got some money now to upgrade my gear, but I'm unsure what the most effective upgrade path would be, and I was hoping to get some advice here. I mostly do outdoor landscape or nature shots, night and day city shots, indoor candid shots and portraits of friends/family. Current gear: -Nikon D3200 -17-55mm f/3.5-5.6...
Hi Friends, I will be buying my first dslr in a week, So far based on reviews and budget I found D5300 will be ideal for my budget. I also planned to buy 35mm f1.8 lens with this. I need to know which kit lens to go for 18-55mm or 18-140mm. Is 140mm lens is really worth or can I save money here and later go for better lens in near future or is there any other better zoom lens that I can go for now with this money? I am from India and here the price difference of 140mm kit lens is around $300...
Need some help deciding between two lenses. AF-S NIKKOR 18-70mm 1:3.5-4.5G ED AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G Mostly I'm using these lenses for sports, skiing, white water kayaking, climbing, that sort of thing. I've got a D7000. The cool thing about the 18-70 mm lens is that it has M/A or M modes whereas the 18-55 is either M or A - no overriding the mode that the lens is on by using the camera focus mode toggle. I like the idea of getting the extra bit of range with the -70 lens, but I'm...
Hello everyone! I've always been interested in astronomy and for my birthday my friend got me a Celestron Nexstar 114gt to start me off. I just so happen to have a Nikon D5100 that's been sitting around collecting dust with its stock lens. The telescope kit came with the t ring and adapter and so I am thinking about taking a few shots with it. I am interested in what kind of settings I should use when I piggyback with the Nikon and I would really appreciate any advice you have for settings...
Hi, I am a beginner in photography, Puchased a DSLR few months back, Now on to the next most important item... LENSES and Other Accessories... I read that D5200 does not have Focus Motor because of which lenses compatible list is smaller... So Concerned about it before investing on it. Presently have the kit 18-55 lens only... Which is the best lenses / products for an average budget for following scenarios ? - Macro Closeup shots of Flowers/insects etc - Zoom Shots for Animals and...
Hi, I have just bought my first DSLR, Nikon D3200 along with 18-55mm kit lens. I have read several articles against buying kit lens or suggesting that its IQ is low. I was wondering what could be the difference between a Nikon 17-55mm lens at 18mm with aperture set to 3.5 and the kit lens at same values. I think 17-55 costs 10 times that of kit lens. Is it worth that investment? Please enlighten me on this. Thanks Kapil
