Hello First of all I apologize for my English. I don't know how to speak or write English well and I use the Google translator. Expression corrections are welcome for improvement. Thanks for your understanding. I like the Nikon coolpix A because for a low price you can have a pocket camera with an APS-C sensor and a 28mm. My doubt comes from its operation, I read that it is slow to focus, it does not have snap focus, the manual mode every time you take a photo returns to infinity and you have...

Hello folks I came across a rather enticing blowout-sale deal for a Leica X2 offered for 999$ at a consumer electronics store in my country. Now before I jump on the Leica bandwagon I'd be curious to get some buying advice since I would primarily get this camera because "it's an excellent camera and providing stellar image quality (providing the user uses the correct settings)" and not just because it's a Leica. Since for being budget-conscious 1000$ is still quite a chunk of money which...

I'm a bit confused about the fill flash options on my Nikon Coolpix A. I know there's a "Coolpix" section, but Coolpix A is technically a DX-labeled APS-C camera, and might share more with its large APS-C DSLR siblings in terms of the menu and options. What confuses me is that fill flash keeps overexposing. I've set the flash mode to "Slow" and TTL, and I've tried both average metering and metering flash for background--both give more or less the same overexposed subject results regardless of...

With my other cameras I've wanted more programmable buttons than are available, but with the Coolpix A I haven't yet had any sense of how I'd want to customize them. Thus far I've found every function I sought handily available on the back of the camera. So I was curious to ask: how do you use those buttons? Sue

I am curious about how hard it would be to clean the dirty sensor on my (out of warranty) Coolpix A myself. Has anyone taken a Coolpix A apart? A few internet searches turn up no relevant results. If I can find a better screwdriver set I might take mine apart. It'd be nice to have a cleaner sensor, and I am curious about how it looks inside.

In the near future, I'll be in Peru for a few weeks to see Machu Picchu and do all the other routine touristy stuff.  I'm traveling light with just one small backpack and want to just take one camera.  Between the RX100 and Coolpix A, which would you take? The majority of my prior vacation photos are in the 28 to 35 mm focal length range, though I do occasionally shoot telephoto but not much.  Will likely be taking mostly landscape photos and pictures with our group standing in front of...

On DXOmark , the Nikon got a rating of 22, while the Sony got only 17... Is the difference really big, in real life ? I mean... do the colors coming from the Nikon, be more lifelike ? thanks!

Hi, I have D700 and several primes range from 20mm to 180mm but no zoom. I have a habit in using primes since film's day. I used to own some mid-range zooms and sold them because of an inconsistent in quality through out the zoom range (and focus range). After my son started to walk I've been having a hard time using a set of fix lens to snap the moments. I still love primes so I experiment with D700 paired with 105mm f2 DC and my wife's GF2 paired with 14mm f2.5 and the result is great! I...
