I'm a bit confused about the fill flash options on my Nikon Coolpix A. I know there's a "Coolpix" section, but Coolpix A is technically a DX-labeled APS-C camera, and might share more with its large APS-C DSLR siblings in terms of the menu and options. What confuses me is that fill flash keeps overexposing. I've set the flash mode to "Slow" and TTL, and I've tried both average metering and metering flash for background--both give more or less the same overexposed subject results regardless of...

With my other cameras I've wanted more programmable buttons than are available, but with the Coolpix A I haven't yet had any sense of how I'd want to customize them. Thus far I've found every function I sought handily available on the back of the camera. So I was curious to ask: how do you use those buttons? Sue
I am curious about how hard it would be to clean the dirty sensor on my (out of warranty) Coolpix A myself. Has anyone taken a Coolpix A apart? A few internet searches turn up no relevant results. If I can find a better screwdriver set I might take mine apart. It'd be nice to have a cleaner sensor, and I am curious about how it looks inside.
In the near future, I'll be in Peru for a few weeks to see Machu Picchu and do all the other routine touristy stuff. I'm traveling light with just one small backpack and want to just take one camera. Between the RX100 and Coolpix A, which would you take? The majority of my prior vacation photos are in the 28 to 35 mm focal length range, though I do occasionally shoot telephoto but not much.
