Howdy guys and girls, I have an off again / on again relationship with photography that has seemed to restart with the interest from my 17 YO son wishing to learn more about taking photos. With the advances in technologies over the last decade or more in photography my once "cool" gear has somewhat become OLD. I still have my original and working Konica/Minolta Maxxum 7D that my dear wife spent big bucks for when it first came out and a just recently "dying" Dynax 5D that I purchased...

Hi. I am really interested in trying my hand at eclipse pictures in August since I live very close to the path where the total eclipse can be seen. Based on what I've read, I was planning to use my dslr Konica Minolta Maxxum 5d. Since it was recommended to use at least a 300mm lens, I planned to use my Kimunor 500 mm f8 or my Phoenix 500mm mirror lens. These lens are both manual focus and I have not used them before since I usually use the AF feature. Initially, when I put the Kimunor on...
Hi everyone. I have a dynax 5d and I have just brought a HD-N3 shoe adapter to use my Panasonic PE-280c flash but it still won't fire. I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem could be? Could it be I need a PC sync cable? and also while on the subject, I've seen a few things about trigger voltage and am a little worried about breaking my camera, I have no idea what it's trigger voltage is. If anyone has any info about this and whether I can use the Panasonic flash with the dynax 5d I...
Hi I recently upgraded to Sony A77 Mark II after using DynaX 5D for about a decade. I am planning to invest in a new set of lens than the kit lens (18-70 and 75-300 Minolta lens). I have my eyes on 70-200 F2.8 despite being quite expensive as I believe I have matured a bit to invest in a better pair of lens. I learnt that this lens is a full frame one however it could be used on APS-C sensors too. I would like to know from experts here about their experiences with A77 II and 70-200 F/2.8...

Hi After almost a decade I am upgrading my Minolta Dynax 5D SLR to Sony Alpha A77 Make II SLT. It was an obvious choice because I have got 3 Minolta lens (Minolta AF Zoom 28-100mm f/3.5-5.6, Minolta AF 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 which are part of my film roll camera kit and Minolta AF DT 18-70mm F/3.5-5.6 zoom lens and Minolta AF 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 that came with Dynax 5D). I have now placed an order for Sony A77 Make II Body Only. I would want to check how the features like 12fps, 79 AF points etc...
