Already been a user of the S5. Strong points from my point of view are the highlight retention and potential colours. Weak points are that the files almost always need sharpening which virtually puts up the image noise another stop. My usage tends to be scenics with a few portraits. No need to hurry. I have read the most detailed reviews I can (mainly from Hogan). If I want to add to the stable of F-mount cameras, is there any use in looking at older than an S5? Would an S3 or even S2 give...

I had a wonderful time shooting with the D4 at a volleyball tournament. The camera is amazing when it comes to AF performance and not to mention battery life. These bodies simply don't disappoint. But, to be honest, I was expecting more out of a FF sensor regarding IQ. I have asked several times if anyone has compared the IQ of an older 16MP FF sensor to a newer sensor in the D500. I don't know, but the images out of my new used D4 simply don't blow my mind away or they are nothing to say...
The size of the company, the look of the bodies, the lenses, the IQ output, the AF, the price, the technology in it? I started shooting with a nikon D200. Really liked that camera IQ for portraits. When CMOS came out in nikon i think their image quality also changed dramatically, for worse. I then got the D7000 and used for three years, then sold it for a fuji S5 pro, and oh my god, things just changed for me right there. I fell in love with fuji CCD sensors. Later on I got a XE1, and...
I realise this issue might be an obvious one to resolve but I have a strange problem with the remaining frames counter on my Fujifilm S5 Pro (I know, old school!) I recently bought a 32gb compact flash card for it and although it records the images fine and the counter reduces accordingly, if you delete images the counter doesn't reset. It started with 877 available, now is below 840 but there's nothing on the card. I've formatted it both in the camera and on a PC, no difference, it just...
Just purchased the X-Pro1 body only. Really excited in re-entering the Fuji world since the S5 Pro. Was wondering what lens to get as my first lens. Any suggestion? As the first lens I would say I'm looking for general purpose use. But I'm also down to any suggestion that you think fully represents or utilizes the Fuji system and is a signature lens that you think is a must have. I'm already saving up for the 56/1.2 but that's gonna be awhile definitely not my first lens :D Besides that lens,...
Then stop looking and get the pentax K1. FYI, I'm no pentax sales person, but I have started seeing more and more photos and the K1 images look a lot like what i was getting from the S5 Pro. The colors have pastels in them too. Skin tones have that S5 Pro look as well. If you are one of the people that keep dreaming of having an "updated" S5 Pro but with more resolution, you might want to check out the K1. Is probably the closest thing out there that has S5 pro like images, in a DSLR...
I used to access the photos on my S5 Pro via USB cable plugged into my PC, which showed the S5 Pro as a hard disk where I could browse the files/folders and copy the RAW files and JPEGs from the camera to my PC. That was many months ago. Trying to do the same now and although I can see the S5 Pro as a device in Windows 10, when I open it it shows there are no files or folders, even though it reports "nGB of 4GB free", so the CF card in the camera does contain some photos, and I can browse...
Hello everyone: I have a Fujifilm S5 Pro with is the Nikon 200d body and the queston I have is: It's normal for this camera to fire flash even in the closed position. I noticed it because I smell a burn odor and when I looked at it from the side I noticed a light coming from the built in flash. I'm thinking that probably the camera is not receiving a signal that the flash is in closed position, but I want to make sure. I'm shooting in Manual mode. Thanks
Hi guys, Since my A77II has become my main camera with the 70-200 lens, now I want to eliminate more stuff and go smaller, and I am looking for a second super light body to shoot normal stuff at the wider angle vs the 70-200 range. I am "thinking" of getting the X100 since most users claim that it has a "different" charming image output compared to it's newer replacements. I can relate to that observation since I have a S5 Pro. I have never used a X1** series camera and would like to know...
