I'm not a pro. I just purchased a fujifilm hs35exr. I set the camera to take black & white for two of the pics. After taking four pics, I reviewed them on the camera's monitor and two showed up as black and white pics. However, when I download them to my PC, they were all in color. The RAW setting was used. The owner's manual (pdf) is either written for the expert or I just can't find the answer there. bill grub

As you can see here, DP completely ignores and disregards Fuji, specially HS & EXR lineup and doesn't neither review nor publish their sample photos, even a preview! But a toy 100$ camera from other brands (specially Canon) has review, preview, sample photos, comparison studio photos, rating , ... WHY?!
Hi guys, This is my first post to this forum, I have the above question.. I know the two camera s are of two types, D3000 being a DSLR and Fujifilm one being a superzoom.. Actually my initial plan was to go for a superzoom (Fujifilm HS35EXR) , but heard from some friends that those are not so good as DSLR s in low light.. considering the amount of additional few more bucks that I have to put to go for D3000, which is the DSLR I found with the lowest price.. to get that advantage of having...
So...I wanted to upgrade from a P&S after a couple of years but I didn't have a budget in which I could buy a DSLR body and then go on to buy lenses etc. and then decided on buying a superzoom but am torn between 2 of them (Budget is around $350 max, not a penny more and i'm also not interested in refurbished/used cameras)So which Superzoom (Fujifilm HS30EXR / Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ60 ) would offer me better IQ, IS and AF speed. I will be mostly shooting - BIF- Wildlife- Macros ( I tend to...
I noticed today that Costco is selling the HS30EXR for $250 (in-store only) through March. I'd never handled one, and was slightly disappointed by the light, cheap feel. Still, seems like a lot of performance for the price, and cheap enough to make a good backup camera when I eventually get something better. The HS35 seems to have a few more flash modes and that sort of thing - not worth $150 extra for me. Any strong reason to go for the newer model? I'd prefer the longer zoom of the HS50, but...
I am about to buy another bridge camera, mainly for birding, and the Finepix HS35/50 EXR look pretty good. Their combination of extreme zoom, reasonable price and slightly larger sensor seems to lead the field at the moment. I'm wondering about the 16MP choice, though. I haven't found extra value in anything above 12MP, even for publishing full-size calendar photos. And I haven't yet found a point-and-shoot with >7X zoom range whose optics (in my hands) would resolve a high-contrast line so...
Hello, the truth is that I'm undecided, is my first camera, and nose CHOOSE which all recommend me, the T3i, but I hate, I found that looking more or less for the same price the SLT A55, is better, but now donot choose which, if the SLT A55, the HS35, FinePix or SL1000, and the truth is that nose which choose, help me, give me your opinions and remember this is my first camera :D!
Hi,I've a great interest on photography but still am a beginner. i am currently using a Sonly DSC W360 Digital Camera and take pretty decent photos from it (check some of them at http://www.flickr.com/photos/93737207@N06/)I am hoping purchase an advanced camera, but am quite confused as what to buy. well, the maximum amount that i can afford is 400 USD, hence i have no choice but to settle with a hybrid camera.here are my choicesFujifilm HS30EXRNikon Coolpix L810Sony Cyber-shot...
