Visual Supply Company is revamping the popular VSCO Cam app, promising to deliver an all-new version with a Grid feature that lets users show off their images. The app maker has reached out to photographers like Emilie Ristevski of Sydney, Australia, whose work is shown above and below, to show off what the forthcoming VSCO Cam app and VSCO Grid feature can do.

We love a good tease. The Visual Supply Company, makers of the popular iOS app VSCO Cam, is doing just that by sharing a sneak peak at a new feature that will be incorporated into the forthcoming revamp of their camera app.

VSCO Grid will help photographers showcase their VSCO Cam images in a clean grid format both within the app and online, with the capacity for captions. While details are scarce so far, VSCO is sharing the results some select photographers have found with advanced versions of the software, such as work by Emilie Ristevski of Sydney, Australia, shown above.

VSCO Grid will be integrated within the forthcoming revamped VSCO Cam app.
The interface hints at a social network, but VSCO promises that the app is not trying to be the next Instagram.

VSCO is adamant this is not another social network. VSCO Grid does not quantify the connections between users — there is no tally of "likes" or comments. Instead, it wants to function solely as a gallery space.

An Android version could also be in the works, according to TechnoBuffalo.

While no release date has yet been shared for the new VSCO Cam app, you can sign up to be amongst the first to know when it launches. One thing's for sure: VSCO is encouraging owners of the current $0.99 app to download the latest version from the App Store, saying version 1.2.10 contains a "special bonus" that will activate the day the new VSCO Cam launches.
