The Asus Zenfone Zoom was first presented to the public in January 2015 but is only this month becoming commercially available, and only in Taiwan. There is still no news on availability in other regions, but a new video released by Asus today might help shorten the wait for the device to be stocked at retailers in your part of the world.
In the video, Asus explains some of the camera technology used in the Zenfone Zoom and how it was designed to fit into the device's fairly thin shell, for example the 3x zoom lens with its 10 elements and horizontal periscope design. There is also some talk about the Zenfone's laser-assisted AF and sensor technology, but unfortunately no information on sensor size.
Read our original article from January to see the Zenfone Zoom's specifications and view the video below for more detail on the camera and its zoom lens.
